We have always flown to HH but this August we are driving. If we just drive till we're tired, will it be difficult to get a hotel room off the highway without a reservation in advance ? Also, didn't someone once post a web site on the I-95 exits or something like that? Thanks.

Hi;

Driving on I-95 and finding a hotel shouln't be a problem. It is a 15 hour drive for me and I usually drive through the night so that I can make it to the resorts by mid-afternoon. Most of the time I drive straight through without a stop but occassionally I will need a few minutes rest. I usually stop a a rest stop for a quick nap of 20 to 25 minutes. I've never had any problems and I've noticed a number of other people who are doing the same thing. I drive my myself and I don't know if I would do this if I had a family with me.

Probably won't be a problem finding a room in August, if it were the winter then that would be different.

I recently drove back and stopped at a Days inn in NC with no problems of getting rooms. There is plenty of places unless you have to stay in a top line place.

Might there be other sites for other routes, such as 1-65 or 1-75?

Thank you, SG/Linda

Baileybelle, thank you so very much for taking your time to help. I will think of you when I am navigating the roads on our next trip.

BaileyBell, you are a sweetheart. Thank you so very much for the heads up.

We have several special spots to stop on the way down but are always interested in new ones.

Hope we can share a bench at DW one of these days. We are headed back the end of October.

Slightly Goofy ...We're going to be at WDW the end of October too!!! We''ll be there October 17 - October 27. :thewave:

How wonderful!! Who knows we might meet. We usually stay at the Sports so we can stay an extended time. Don't have our exact dates set as I wait for the codes. I do know which Eat to the Beat bands I want to see. Might have to break the trip into two 5 or 6 day trips so that I can see all my favorites. LOL

I belong to the EWP group on the Community Board and they are a great bunch of ladies. Please come by for a visit if you get the chance. You would fit in just fine. We have a virtual suite overlooking the lagoon and dream Disney dreams every day.

Do you guys drive down?

SG/Linda

This will be our first time driving down. It's about a 24 hour drive from southern Maine. We flew the other times, but my dd and ds refuse to step foot on another plane after our last flight down where we had to endure 3 solid hours of horrible turbulence. It's also our first time off site. We're booked at a 3bd/2ba condo at Windsor Palms. With 5 adults it was a little too expensive for us to book a Disney resort. I'm really going to miss being on site but I'll still be at WDW. I'll have to check out the community board and look you up!! :thewave:

BaileyBelle, sounds like a good plan as long as you have two drivers or more and have a dvd player to keep the kids occupied. LOL My grandsons have already put in an order for one for Christmas as they just got a new van and are headed to Washington DC next year.

If I were not night blind and kind hearted (do not want to kill any one) we might stay off site also.

I am looking at checking in around October 12th (Beach Boys) until the 26th (Three Dog Night) with a couple of days in Clearwater one weekend. I think I am making up for my lost teen years now. LOL

How old are your children? Do you go to DW often? Looking forward to seeing you in the EWP Suite. It is a small but select group of people there. We have been going for three years and just had our first official meet in May and are looking forward to another next May.

SG/Linda
