Since renting a car isn't possible - none of the adults in my family know how to drive, I like some advice about getting around with public transportation.
We will be 4 adults and 2 kids taking our first ever family vacation together. We read about Wyndham Bonnet Creek and since we don't plan on too many park days, we decided that was the place to go. There will be plenty of entertainment for the kids. We got a great price for a 2-bedroom from an owner. We will be there for 2 weeks in July so we will spend a lot of time by the pools.
I am trying to get info about shopping and getting around for my mother who is 80 and my aunt who is 75. They won't be spending too much time at the pools. My mother loves to go shopping, but her type of shopping is going to Walgreens or a discount store.
Is there any shopping areas that she can get to by public transportation from Bonnet Creek? If she takes the shuttle from Bonnet Creek ($5 per person round-trip) to Downtown Disney, is there a public bus that would go to a shopping mall or an area that would have discount stores?
A couple of years ago my mother and aunt took a trip to Orlando, but they stayed in a hotel on International Drive. They were able to walk to stores and or use the trolley that goes up and down International Drive. My mother is looking to do that again, but when I told her that she couldn't walk to any stores while we are at Bonnet Creek she got upset.
Any suggestions on getting to stores using public transportation will help. Thank you.
