Traveling from LAX to Disneyland

Alright me and my girlfriend are flying in from Tampa to LAX in the begining of June. We have been to WDW alot and never been to Disneyland so we are pretty excited. Since we are staying at the Disneyland Hotel and don't plan on leaving the resort we are not going to rent a car. I would just like some information on the shuttle that picks you up and takes you there. I called Disneyland yesterday and i'll be honest they weren't too nice. I just want to know if i need to make a reservation for times to pick me up and bring us to disneyland and also taking us from disneyland back to the airport at like 6am for an early flight out. Is there a cost involved b/c i didnt see anything on the site. Thanks in advance for your help.

Flying to LAX for going to Disneyland is like flying into Tampa for going to WDW.

That being said, a rental car is probably one of the best options. I've priced it out many times, and if it's a short trip, itt generally has been cheaper to rent a car and have it sitting in a parking lot than to pay for a shared van.

If you must do a shuttle, go to http://www.supershuttle.com They're like Mears is to Orlando... but a lot better than Mears will ever be

There are two types of shuttles that are most used - The Disneyland Express (CoachUSA) and SuperShuttle. The Disneyland Express is a big bus - if you stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel, they will drop you off there. If not, you are dropped off at a central spot, and then a shuttle will take you to your hotel. The SuperShuttle is a 7-8 passenger van and will drop you off at your hotel. The SuperShuttle is slightly higher than Disneyland Express.

These shuttles run on a regular schedule to the Disneyland Resort from LAX. You do not have to make reservations from LAX - you can just go to the shuttle curb, and take the next available shuttle. SuperShuttle has an attendant at each curb for the 7 terminals who will assist you. However, I think that you'd be better prepared to call in advance and reserve a spot.

You do need to make reservations to return to the airport, and will be told what time to expect your pick-up.

You may get a slight discount for roundtrip over one-way rides, so be sure to ask.

will they take you to the grand cal is there a rental for cars at LAX that are also at disneyland so I can return the car at disney and have the shuttle take me back to airport so I won't get lost and have to return car

Enterprise at LAX charges a $10/day surcharge for ages 21-24. I'm only 23 and I rented from them the past 2 years. As long as you have a credit card, you'll be set.

In February we took the supershuttle from Orange County Airport to the hotel and it worked out fine. We are a family of four with two young children, so I called ahead and reserved a van and scheduled our pickup for the return. The previous times to this we rented cars and drove from LAX, that also worked out for us...have fun.

I used Supershuttle from LAX to HoJos by DL and it was fine. LAX to DL is much shorter than Tampa to WDW. I've been to MCO many times, and this was similar to Mears to WDW from there (just more traffic!). It was my first trip to DL, solo at that, and Supershuttle worked out very well.

To PR Surfer or anyone that can help! If you don't recommend flying into LAX where SHOULD we fly into for a long weekend at DL? I appreciate any help. We would depart from Dallas/Fort Worth. Thanks!

I am not sure that the reference to Tampa was a negative recommendation for LAX. There are some closer airports: Long Beach, south of LA, and Orange County (John Wayne??) but I have no idea. Until I checked.

LAX to Disneyland: 33 miles.
Long Beach to Disneyland: 14 miles
John Wayne to Disneyland: 12 miles

Tampa to TTC in WDW: 80 miles

I interpreted the initial reply as negative because unless you save a ton of money flying into Tampa it wouldn't make sense with MCO so close.

I have to fly into LAX .I will fly airtran from Philly and I collected wendy's cups for 4 rt flights and it is costing me about $68.00 roundtrip a ticket so I have no choice.

Regarding the LAX issue.

Yes, it's further away from DLR than SNA (aka Orange County and John Wayne). But everything from Philly (where we fly out of) to SNA is a connection, (ditto for Long Beach) and we can get a non-stop to LAX. Overall, flying in and out of LAX takes less time, even with the further drive.

I've been to DL several times without renting a car. We usually just take the Airport Bus (is this the same as the Disneyland Express?) it usually has disney pictures on the outside of it. Last time we used it, it cost $25 per person round-trip. I don't think you can get a rental car (especially since you are under 25) for $50 for the length of your trip, even if it is a short one.
