***note on Ed's Door***

I've gone down to the Kona Cafe for Tonga Toast and then I was thinking of going to MGM or AK today.

Can I come? I've never been to the Kona Cafe before. Never had Tonga Toast :( Wo is me.

I love AK and MGM. Can I come? :hyper: huh, can I? :hyper:

Sure come on along the more the merrier (IRL I have a meeting at 10 so you may have to do some of the park w/o me) just wondering deadheadbelle how did you become a red sox fan?

:hyper: Oooh, me too, me too! Deadheadbelle wait for me! If there is one thing I can hoover, its breakfast. I have never been either. I went to 'Ohanas for the first time in March.

I am up for eiter one today - but one request, that we spend a significant amount of time at MGM - I have never been able to spend more than a half day there which leaves me completely jipped on doing stuff - I spend most of my time in line for Playhouse Disney and then all to not get in - yup that happened last trip and it stunk.

P.S. - we have to have Ed pick a color since he ventured over to the TAGLIARCHY

Make sure we pig out enough to make going on this really fun first thing in the morning

borrowed from our own dear site right here at the DIS:
The debut of the newest thrill ride at Disney-MGM Studios, Rock
‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, offers a thrilling Disney experience for guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. The extreme coaster is teamed with the exciting sound of America’s premier rock band, Aerosmith, creating a high-speed thrill ride that will literally rock ‘n’ roll guests.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, opened to guests on August 1, 1999, as part of the largest property-wide expansion in Walt Disney World history. The indoor roller coaster features a high-speed launch of 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds, three inversions, rock-concert lighting and a specially created Aerosmith soundtrack blasting from 120 onboard speakers in each coaster train -- all firsts for a Walt Disney World attraction.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, located near The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror on Sunset Boulevard, represents yet another breakthrough in Disney theme park rides. Guests aboard each “limo” will encounter nearly five Gs as they transition from launch to loop at the ride’s first inversion. By comparison, astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle experience three Gs at liftoff.

The attraction begins with a tour of the fictional G-Force Records, where guests will encounter Aerosmith finishing up a studio recording session. After being invited by the band to see them in concert, guests will then climb aboard a 24-passenger “stretch limo” and swiftly accelerate into the Hollywood night.

The enclosed experience will remain dimly lit while Southern California landmarks illuminate different twists and turns throughout the ride -- 365 days a year, rain or shine.

Oh and I just want it noted that in this fantasy touring world, I CAN go on roller coasters!

What else do people want to do today? OH, and it should also be noted that we can park hop with incredible speed so if you want to do something at AK and we are just off the RNRC at MGM, we will be there in about two minutes.

My dad. He's been a Red Sox fan since he was 5 years old (which would have been around 1940). We are from Toledo, where most people are either Tigers or Indians fans, but not my dad. So, I guess the addiction to pain & misery is in my blood.

CONGRATULATIONS castlegazer

Wow, breakfast at KONA...I'm in (even though I've already had some CP breakfast lasagna over on the island). I'll have an omlette, please.

May I join you for MGM? I'm with you castlegazer, RNR and TOT first thing in the morning! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO! Then a little bit of mint (with chocolate, of course) to put everything 'inside' back where it belongs! And I didn't get to see Beauty and the Beast last time I was there....so I'll be at the first performance today.

Hey TLinden do Ray and Scotty perform tonight? I'm still looking forward to my first Jellyrolls visit.

As soon as breakfast is over, let's go to ToT. Yes, I live my life on the edge. ;)

will have a playmate!

Hey all, After the Virtual Trip, why not come by the Island for a while???

:bounce:

Okay, I'll join you at the Kona Cafe for some Tonga Toast IF you tell me what Tonga Toast is.

I'd love to do MGM. Even in my imagination I'm not sure I'm brave enough for the RNR. I will definitely try TOT though, because in my fantasy world I do NOT, repeat do NOT, have a fear of heights!

Oh, ohanafamily  - I am so excited for you and Robin!.

I love this! My dream to tour with my Tavelin' DIS'rs and the TAGLIARCHY! How cool is that!

Tower-of-Terror.jpg

Again, taken from right here at the DIS:
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror At the end of the street looms the imposing Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, rising 13 stories high (naturally). This ride opened in 1994, and takes you on an eerie journey through a deserted Hollywood Hotel where you visit the lobby, the library (check out "Rod Serling") and the boiler room. The adventure culminates with a 13-story drop in a runaway 1917 caged service elevator! In 1996, the ride was enhanced to add a SECOND drop, and in 1999 the ride was enhanced again. Now you NEVER know how many death-defying, high-speed plunges you'll take on each drop! This very fun and VERY popular ride draws long lines, so be sure and use Fast Pass to avoid a long wait. Also, be sure and SMILE when you reach the top of the building for the first time…a picture will be taken of your terror as you begin your huge descent. And of course the photo is available for purchase as you exit the ride.

Guests in wheelchairs must transfer from the chair to ride. Minimum height is 40 inches. Closed-captioning is available on the pre-show film. See Guest Relations to obtain an activator for closed-captioning.

Tower of Terror Fun Facts:

Hidden Mickey: In the movie that they play before the ride, the little girl is holding a Mickey Mouse.
At 199 feet tall, this is the tallest theme park attraction at WDW. Interestingly enough, this is also the FASTEST thrill attraction at any park. This is because the rate at which you drop is literally faster than the acceleration due to gravity.
The "Fifth Dimension" scene in the ride was inspired by the "Little Girl Lost" episode of the Twilight Zone.
The Rod Serling introduction film shown in the library was taken in part from an episode of the series titled "It's a Good Life." After the first few introductory words of the dialogue (which were Serling's actual words), Disney Imagineers took over and completed the film with new dialogue customized for the attraction. For continuity, a voice-over actor (a Serling sound-alike) over-dubbed the entire narration.
The rooms and corridors of the Hollywood Tower Hotel are full of items from Hollywood auction houses, some of them quite valuable.

Sorry. I was just grabbing a chocolate crossiant at Starring Rolls. Yummy.

Ibouncetoo, Scotty and Ray are scheduled to perform at Jellyrolls this evening. I'm heading there right at 8:00 :)
