Travelers checks

Do most places in the parks accept travelers checks??

EVERY place accepts them...down to the coke vendors with the carts. Ah, the pre-check card days....

Excellent. Just was having this conversation with the DH as to whether we should bring them (we both prefer to, but didn't want it to be a pain in the tail) or just use the check card. TC's it is.

We love to go on vacation with everything paid so here it what we do...

When we arrive at our resort (assuming you are staying on property) you simply tell the CM that you would like to place cash on your account and give them the travelers checques. They will credit that to your keys to the kingdom card just like they would a credit card then you are free to only use your card (much easier). When you check out the will return any unused monies. It really works very well!

I always, always, use travelers checks at WDW I also agree its a great way to earmark funds for your trip!

Until your card becomes demagnetized. And if you're on the dining plan, that means no food, because now you have no money on you as well, until you go back to the hotel and have it replaced, and lose an hour or two out of the parks and mess up your ADRs.

Actually if your card becomes demagnatized I believe you can go to park services at the front of the park and they will take care of everything for you! This happened to us on our last trip and they gave us a temporary card to take care of us till we got to our resort. When we got back that night the new card was waiting for us.

and oh yeah.....if there is more than one adult in your party than the hopefully the second card didnt get demagnatized too! Where are you keeping your cards???

It didn't happen to me, it happened to my DBIL on our Magical Gathering. His card didn't work one day at MGM and it was nothing but a headache . . . they said he had to go back to the hotel to get it fixed. Twice, because it happened again a couple of days later. I can't say what he went through to get it back because I stayed in the parks while he went back, but he was not happy about it to say the least.
