I've not traveled Sunshine first myself but if you do a search is this forum you will find lots of good reports :cool1:
Welcome to the Dis :cheer2:

We stayed at the Holiday Inn last year it's about half way down I-Drive opposite Starbucks MMMmmmm Latte :cloud9: we were in the tower block. It was our first time in America so we did feel a bit uneasy we had a 2 hour delay on top of a long flight then drove from the airport to the hotel by the time we got to our hotel it was around 9.30pm,it was a saturday night dark and a lot of teens hanging around in groups so i just wanted to get in to our room asap. The room was really nice, basic but clean, tidy and comfortable.
We had a good nights sleep and every thing the next morning looked a lot better, dont eat there though the food is awful :p
We didnt feel comfortable being out late with 2 young children on I Drive it is very busy, there are loads of great places to eat www.sweettomatoes.com
was one of our fav's also Race Rock,we hired a car and it took no more than half an hour to get to the main gates of WDW.
Hope the info helps,if you want any more questions answering just ask i dont mind

we booked with TCD for last August. Everything was fine from the booking to coming home !

We were caught up in the Hurricane Frances and our return flight was cancelled. TCD were very good keeping us informed at all times. We were able to stay on at our hotel (Animal Kingdom Lodge) which had been arranged by TCD and all costs were met by them, even though we thought that as it was an 'act of God' we would have to pay for the extra 4 nights.

We are booking again with them for this year, and already the price of our holiday has been well below that of the major competitors.

As for your hotel on I Drive, I think it is in the middle opposite Wet n Wild ?? The I bus runs up and down International Drive and is very cheap.
Personally, I would not stay on I Drive as we like it quiet but if you like the shops, bars and many places to eat you are in the right place.

Can I ask you why?, I've always felt safe on I-Drive and Florida in general. You should try Nottingham City Centre on a Friday and Saturday night.

Cheers Florry and Sharon7 I am getting a little more comftable booking on the net and the sound of shops and coffee sounds good any one know what flying with Travelcity direct is like cheers

I Must admit i feel safer when in the tourist areas of florida than i do when driving in London. Here i lock the car doors when in any city after my BIL nearly had his brief case stolen off of his passager seat at a set of trafficlights.
The police in Florida are VERY hot on crime against tourists as thjey are the live blood of the state :cool1:
there are seedier parts ( on the orange blossom trail) but not on I drive that i've ever noticed. :confused3

try the 192 next trip
it's a much queiter area
We prefer it to I Drive just becouse after a busy day in the parks it's much more layed back and easier to chill out :cold:

Flying with Travel Citry Direct was painless !
We flew on Air Atlantas planes which TCD use. The plane was a jumbo and the leg room was not what we had expected. However, The service was good so was the food. My one critisism was the in flight entertainment. There are no seat back TVs in 'ordinary class' and the large screen that they had was slightly too low for my 9 year old to see without standing on her seat.
When you take into account that our holiday last year was £3000.00 less than we had been quoted by the main competitor these minor things didn't mattter at all. The savings we made have enabled us to book again for this year ! that will be with TCD aswell ! - The reps for TCD at the airports were very helpfull and organised !

:cheer2:

I booked with TCD last year and they were very poor in my opinion. We paid for Sunshine Upper but got bumped down about two months prior to departure due to a plane change. As compensation they gave us extra luggage allowance (which was great for the journey back) and extra legroom on both flights.

The plane they used was the oldest plane at the airport (couldn't see whether Biggles was the pilot!), our extra legroom seats were directly in front of the tv screen meaning we couldn't see it, which was irrelevent as the headsets weren't working so we couldn't have watched it even if we'd wanted. The toilet door broke and the light in there wasn't working, which you would say was unfortunate until we noticed all these problems were still unresolved on the flight back two weeks later! If you're looking at making a saving then TCD are a good option, but if you want a hassle-free, relaxing holiday in comfort, then my experiences with Virgin are a lot more memorable.

I think there will always be good and bad in whoever you fly with.

any idea when i can book for september 2006 and whats the telephont number

I have just booked CSR with them for this summer, waaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than the likes of Virgin. If you plan to book with them, go on the website and be clear on your options first, I already had before I phoned, but the girl on the phone ran through everything so fast and tried to sell me all kinds of tickets. If you weren't clear on what you wanted, you could end up with options you didnt really want. I knew exactly where i wanted to stay, what kind of car i wanted and which ticket options i wanted so I was ok, but be warned.

The web address is www.travelcitydirect.co.uk

You will see what tickets are on offer and prices etc. We dealt with Andrew in the sales office and he was brilliant. Very knowledgable and despite me changing the hotel etc on a number of occassions he was always very professional.
We had free upgrades at Bahama Bay and Animal Kingdon Lodge and as I said before they were fantastic when we got stuck in the hurricane covering all costs and being very reasuring at all times (unlike some of the tour operators-all the horror stories were coming out at the airport !) We are booking with them again for this year, :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I have been looking at the TCD website, can I ask roughly how much you paid with them?

Lisa Hi

It depends on when you go ! do you mean our last holiday or the one we are just about to book ?

PM me and I'll forward the details

Florry
