Travel trailer on pop up site? Allowed?

We stayed at the fort on a pop up site last year in a tent. The site was huge. This year, we have an 29ft travel trailer and I noticed there are pop up sites available for last minute reservations after christmas at ~150 per night. Will the check in folks allow a travel trailer to check in on one of those reservations? Physically, it will easily fit the site, but if their policy is to not allow travel trailers on those sites, I do not want to be disapointed at check in. I thought I saw some trailers in our loop last year (Looking at my pictures confirms it!)

There are no sewer hook ups in those sites, and no dump station at the fort. You would not be able to use your trailer shower or toilet, depending on their size and if you have somewhere to dump afterward.

We can deal with that. Id rather shower (and do the toilet business) in the comfort stations. we can survive the length of our stay with the gray water & tank capacity, and dump in an empty site on the way out (or pull a cousin eddie somewhere in an Orlando neighborood....I kid, i kid). My biggest concern is would the length be an issue?

There's official policy and there's unofficial policy that a lot of members here will know about. Im sure they will tell me no, but Im hoping someone has done it before and if it was accepted at check in. I saw some regular sites open up, but at 230+ tax a night, i dont think i want to step it up to that

I have seen 20ish footer travel trailer next to us one time in 2000 loop. I don't the rule or exception though. I was also curious how they got into the loop.

Tbh 80 bucks to use the sewer maybe worth it during the covid. I have stayed on a pop up site with my TT, they didnt stop me. I had a pop up when i booked but had to get another camper before the trip and they had no other sites available. Im sure they wouldn't approve either. It may depend on whos at the gate. They may move you if there are open sites. And some sites will be tight for the TT. Mine is an expendable, and i just made it on my site. If you get a smaller site with the garbage can in the wrong spot you may not fit. Its a gamble.

I hear you, but to be 100% honest, 155+tax per night is my max for a campsite. I understand its the fort... but i also remember paying 79$ not too long ago. 230+ tax works out to something like 250/260 a night. We're a relatively young family and this is a luxury for us, coming from pretty far (20+ hour drive). Im ok using the more comfortable comfort station showers and big toilets. Our TT doesnt have slides and after staying on one of those site, I know will physically fit, but want to know if Disney cast member at the gate is likely to reject us or not.

Yea, disney is expensive. More so on the dates your going. They jack it up for the holidays, don't even look at the new rates, lol. I know you want a definitive answer. And no one can give you that. Do they let some stay there, yes. Do there rules prohibit it, yes. No one knows , if and when they will decide to enforce there rules. I get that you will fit on the sites, there built for tent and pop ups, so some of them are 30 feet when expanded. But as i said some sites you will not be able to back into. The site i had last year was a bear to back onto because of trees and the garbage can thing. Im about 30 feet extended, but 24 ish when the rear bed is in. If my TT was your size, i dont think i could have backed in. This is not all the sites, but some. Its hard to tell by just looking. Its a chance, but do you think disney will turn you away? You are just another $ sign to them. Its a chance. I took it. And it worked out for me. But that dosen't mean it will work out for you.

We biked through the tent/pop up loops and there are a lot of huge sites there that can easily fit a 45ft motorcoach! The biggest minus I saw was that a few tree branches around these tent/pop up loops were low so we would hit it. Otherwise we would book them! There were a lot of Class Bs and teardrop trailers. Seemed like no one bigger snuck in.

Got back a week ago after 6 nights on a partial site, 2016, in my 21 foot RPod; they were the only sites available when I reserved and I wasn't going to dewinterize so no sewer dump wasn't that big of a deal, plus I was staying at a full hookup for a night (offsite) before heading home; used a bucket of water in the shower and ran everything into the grey tank for what water I did use. I was prepared to pay if they wanted me to move to a full site. Did online check in so the only interaction I had was with the security guard. Did save $30+a night. There were at least 3 other smaller TTs on the loop.556753

Got back on Monday, stayed Sunday -Thursday on a partial site in my RPod small travel trailer. On Sunday night the 2000 loop had at least 11 or 12 travel traliers on it, some of them left Monday morning; but there were at least 6 on the loop during the week, including another RPod and 2 Casitas. I did online check in but my site wasn't showing as ready when I arrived and was directed through the drive thru lanes and the person checking me in (my site was actually ready, the text hadn't been sent yet), didn't mention the travel trailer at all. Not saying that it couldn't change, but for now at least they seem to be allowing travel trailers in partials no questions asked. 577996

I should update this post. We ended up having absolutely zero issues. I had kind of forgotten about it by the time we showed up, and there was so much room lengthwise that it could have accommodated a larger trailer or even a motorhome. The downside of no sewer wasnt that big a deal, we made it the 5 nights by mostly using the comfort stations for bathroom and showers.

We also did not feel obnoxiously big in the loop, which was kind of my initial worry.

I just messaged with Disney tonight asking the same question. We have a pop up and have stayed many times at the Fort. Planning to purchase a travel trailer that is actually shorter than our pop up when the pop up is opened. The cast member confirmed the dimensions of the sites and when I asked if size or type of vehicle was more important, she said size. So we will be sticking with the pop up sites.

A good idea of how much room is available on the 2000 loop, those sites do tend to run a bit bigger.

I would hope that if the Fort continues the practice they install a dump station somewhere on the property away from regular sites. Having been the unfortunate person placed in the end of the 2100 loop I can tell you its no fun when people pull into the empty site next to you and dump. It happened with some regularity and I can tell you that not everyone cleans up after themselves. One of the sites/areas that I will never again let myself be placed in.

Never would have thought of this. Thanks for the heads-up. I'd think most people would be considerate & clean up after themselves but there always seems to be that one person... :headache:
