travel times to parks from AKL- please i need HELP!

after reading mountains of information for 6 weeks i have finally sat down and started my itinerary but..... I NEED HELP!

Staying at AKL- have car but decided to use WDW Bus

Approximately how long is the ride to MK, Epcott, MGM and Animal Kingdom ? will it take me longer to get back to AKL then it did to get to the parks?

i am trying to get an estimate on travel times so i can plan out our afternoon naps

We are going Jan 8 - Jan 14

Using Disney transportation, apx. times (according to the Unofficial guide) are:

AKL to MK: 25-50 min
AKL to Epcot: 18-38 min
AKL to MGM: 12-36 min
AKL to AK: 6-23 min

Your own car might take more or less time, depending on where you're able to park. It will take less time on Disney transportation from the MK, no matter what.

I used the bus at AKL two weeks ago to get to Epcot and it took about 25 minutes, including the 10 minute wait at the bus stop.

Stayed at AKL in Oct. used the buses to all the parks. None of them seemed extremely long to me....

Are those times including wait times? Because they seem a little long. We stayed there this past February and the ride to MK was about 15 - 20 minutes. I would say 5 minutes to AK and 10 -15 minutes to Epcot & MGM. Not including wait times.

Keep in mind that times can change drastically depending when you visit. We were at AKL this past September and had no problem with the transportation sytem. We have always used WDW transport, we've never rented a car. It's nice not having to be the one to drive home from the parks.

I agree with jensaint. We were there last November and they were never long. In fact, times were better than any other resort we have stayed at which may be closer to parks, but shared the bus with another resort. I thought AKL had the best!

We experienced much shorter trips when we were there.

Here's about how long it took us-

MK- 12 minutes, we timed it once the bus left the stop.

AK- 5 minutes once the bus left.

MGM- this one always took the longest because during the day we'd stop at BB to pick people up. It took about 15-20 minutes and they also stopped at BB on the way back. At night it was always more like 10-15 minutes because we didn't have to stop at BB.

Epcot- It was about 15 minutes, tops.

I agree with the poster that said the AKL has better busses then some of the other close resorts. We took a bus from the BW once and with all the stops at S&D and Y&B the trip took much longer then any of the trips from the AKL.

We never waited more then 10 minutes for a bus in our 2 week trip. We were also there during Easter which is peak season.
