Travel Times from Polynesian to Epcot

I will be staying at the Polynesian in a few weeks and was checking a recommended transportation website that gives you the travel times from place to place in Disney. I assumed from the Poly to Epcot we would use the monorail. However the site gave these times:

By Bus - Poly to Epcot - 20 min
By Monorail - Poly to TTC to Epcot - 45 min
Walk to TTC then monorail to Epcot - 30 min

Does anyone know if these times are accurate? Why would anyone take the monorail to Epcot if it takes 2X as long as the bus? I'm disappointed as I had hoped that we would be cutting down on our bus travels by being able to use the monorail for both MK and Epcot. Now it seems that we'll only be using the monorail for MK. Anyone have experience with this to confirm?

I'm not absolutely sure there is a bus to Epcot from the Polynesian! When we were there I saw only buses to AK and MGM, as well as DTD and the water parks.
I always walked over to the TTC, took about 8 mins tops, then hopped on the Epcot monorail line. The ride is about 15 mins. So, if you have to wait for a monorail to get there, it may add about 15 mins to the total time. But I can't remember waiting that long before. 40 mins would be the worst case scenario.

That's what I was thinking. To the best of my knowledge (and according to the WDW Info section on Poly transportation options) there is no bus from the Poly to Epcot. Using the resort monorail to the TTC, then transferring to the Epcot monorail takes so long because the TTC is the last stop BEFORE the Poly, so you have to go all the way around through the GF, MK and CR before getting back to the TTC. Walking to the TTC and catching the Epcot monorail there would seem to be the best option.

The walk to the TTC varies. From the closest two longhouses it is probably less than two minutes to get to the top of the monorail ramp. The longhouses on the far side of the GCH are probably a 7-8 minute walk to the TTC.

Epcot monorails come frequently. I'll have to time the ride next time but it seems much shorter than 15 minutes to me. I think from Rapa Nui to Epcot we are often there in less than 15 minutes total. But I would allow 30 just in case.

As for a bus, a couple of years ago we were headed back to the GF or Polynesian from Epcot and our daughter's wheelchair ran out of power. I didn't want my husband to have to push her too far so walked into Guest Services to see if there was a bus. The CM pulled out a manual which did list bus service to the monorail resorts. We were both surprised. :confused3 It could have changed. We did not try that because by the time I finished talking, my DH had our daughter at the monorail station.

But we always walk to the TTC and take the monorail. It is fast and fun.

Thanks for the input. I thought walking to the TTC and then taking the monorail to Epcot would be the best option. Glad to hear it's usually quicker than they said. Thanks again!

The monorail resorts do not have buses to Epcot, you will need to take the monorail.
We found the walk to the TTC to be great, it really takes no time and then you can get right on the monorail to Epcot. This is faster than taking the monorail from the Poly, because once you get to the TTC, after stopping at the GF, and then the CR, you have to get off the monorail, go down the ramp and then up the ramp to the Epcot monorail.
Seriously if you are in a long house that is not at the farthest end of the resort you are better off walking to the TTC,
