I am renting a car at MCO and picking it up the last day of our Disney stay. We are going to take a taxi over to MCO to pick it up, then drive back and load it up.

I am planning to get the car at 7am, then get back to the resort and to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's that morning. Do you think a ressie at 9:30 would be do able?

We want to take the monorail in of course.

My ADR window opens up on the 21st so I'm trying to get my plans together. Thanks!

Have you looked at renting on-site? There is an Alamo/National counter at the Dolphin, and an office at the Car Care Center, close to MK. Other companies are located in DTD.
the other thing you could do is take DME back to the airport. If you need to be at the airport for 7am, just tell DME that. They should be able to get you on a bus by 6:30. If you pick your car up with little delay, you should be back at ASMu by 8ish. Pack up the car and head out. Are you planning on driving to the TTC and taking the monorail from there? If so, you should be at the TTC no later than 8:45. It takes about 20 mins to get from TTC to the CR and then there could be a wait for it to come.

The price for picking up at disney and dropping at mco is about 150 higher than just going to the airport.

I guess we could drive then hop on the monorail, that would be faster than taking the bus.

Will ME pick just 2 of us up without the baggage? Dh and I were planning to get the car and leave my MIL and kids at the resort.

Thanks for replying :). I'm very needy plannng this trip lol, lots of firsts for me.

Absolutely. Shouldn't be any issue at all. The two of you can ride DME to the airport and get the car, then drive back. Just be sure you make that reservation.

I would also keep checking on rental car prices all the way up until your trip! If your ADR window hasn't opened yet, you're at least 6 months out. You may find the prices at the Dolphin/Car Care Center/somewhere Downtown drop significantly as you get closer to your trip, which would save a lot of time! I usually end up renting a car about 2-3 weeks out.

Most car agencies won't have a cancellation fee, so you can lock in a good price now, and cancel it if something better pops up later.

I will for sure keep checking the rates. I thought about even calling National to ask them why the price is so different? I would love to pick up in WDW and drop off at MCO. This would save SO much time. But, I am cheap so money wins always lol.

goofy4tink- I told DH about this option and he's all for it of course! If I can't get the prices to change for my drop of/ pick up differences then this is what we will do. I'm not paying for cab fare if I don't have to.

Joining this board has been the best thing, without it I would be flying blind! Thanks again :).
