Hello to everyone!

We are traveling on the Magic October 30th. I have started looking into travel insurance and I am somewhat confused. There are mulitiple companies each having different levels of protection. Can anyone help ....which company has proven good and how much insurance is needed?

Thanks
Mike

you can go to insuremytrip.com and compare different companies. I have never had to make a claim so I do not have any info in that regard. I would look at the one that most suits you and determine if it is a good price. I am considering travelex for our upcoming cruise. I have heard good things about them.

I used insuremytrip.com to do my research, but when I contacted them their customer service was EXTREMELY RUDE. I then went direct to the company I had chosen (CSA) and purchased the insurance from them.

You basically need to figure out how much you are spending in non-refundable costs (price of cruise, maybe airline tickets, etc.) and that is how much you need to insure for the trip. For us, one of the most important benefits (other than medical outside the USA) was "trip interuption" since we were concerned about flight delays. We are even flying in a day early, but since we are flying out of Chicago in late October (Oct 23rd cruise), the weather could be an issue. If you did not use DCL for airfare and want that covered, you need to purchase your insurance separate from DCL.

A big thing is to check your medical insurance first. Will it cover you outside of the US? Will it cover an air/helicopter evacuation if needed?

If you have this coverage already, you might opt for a lower level of coverage from your trip insurance.
