Travel Insurance

Do you buy your travel insurance through Disney? Has anyone had a good experience w/ any other cheaper travel insurance companies?

I initially booked through DCL for a total cost of $396 for four, incl. 2 kids. Since I booked my air myself, this did not cover my air.

Than I found out (through these boards) that DCL actually uses a company called Access America (Accessamerica.com) and contacted them directly.

They have a program (I had to actually call and talk to a human to find it) where kids travel free!


For a total only $169 I got the trip covered INCLUDING air!

Same situation here. Was paying through the nose at Disney, then called Access American and signed up with them instead. a third of the price got the cruise, airfare, and hotel stay b/f the cruise covered.

We have also done the same for much cheaper and covered all air, hotels, cruise, etc. It is a great savings.

You mean I've been buying trip insurance through Disney & they don't cover my air??? I thought air was covered. I wonder if the one I've been getting, called Travel Guard International, is just for DVC members. Maybe it's different than what Disney offers to other people staying on the property. I'll post this on the DVC board out of curiosity.
