Hi Everyone,
Hoping some-one can point me in the right direction.
Normally I have no problem getting travel insurance but this yr was told I had anemia, so when trying to get insurance I have told them this & as it currently is below 8 , M&S & Travel direct are refusing to insure me ! Now I am perfectly well & am currently waiting for the results of some tests & due to go in hospital nxt wk for another test (barium ???).
Has anyone had this & got insurance & if so who with. Thank you for any advice.x

Hi we went with the post office who would insure my pre exisiting condition.

Took a bit of shopping around to find someone who would cover me for an ok price. Fortunately we took annual insurance out last year for our December trip and it will also cover this year's trip.

Try Halifax travel insurance, through www.halifax.co.uk

They cover pre-existing medical conditions and do an online screening which is very user-friendly.

It's a good policy and you can add or remove various types of cover to tailor it to your needs, for instance we removed the baggage cover because our household insurance already covers it - pointless paying for the same cover twice if you don't have to.

Admittedly, I haven't had to make a claim.
But last year when I thought I might need to (for redundancy) they took a very logical and sensible attitude to the situation, which certainly gave me confidence in the company.

Do you need to get the insurance before you get the results of the tests? I don't know which tests you've had done, but usually once the cause of anaemia is found it is easily treatable.

We had a policy with the Post Office when DD was on medication for anaemia. I'd also recommend Nationwide - my parents have their insurance and they, especially my dad, rattle with amount of pills they have to pop! Their annual insurance has just been renewed and it was around £130 although it is just for Europe as they don't need worldwide cover.
