Travel Insurance

Hi all, we are going to WDW in February and taking my mum as well as she has had quite a year, my dad died in May and on the same day my mum had a heart attack and I always promised her that we would take her when we next go. She is now a lot better but has had two pacemakers fitted.

We are now booked up and was wondering if anyone could recommend a company for travel insurance for my mum.

Sorry to hear about your dad.
You don't say how old your mum is, but if she's over 70 then that could be an issue as well as the pacemakers.

If you already have travel insurance, your best bet is to first ask them if they would insure your mum. A few years ago we had a similar situation but it was my dad we needed to insure, just after he was diagnosed with cancer. I thought we would have great difficulty but I contacted our own insurance and they agreed to insure him at the usual price with the proviso that he was settled on his medication for 3 months and was travelling with us.

Failing that, if you look on moneysavingexpert dot com - insurance - travel insurance - they suggest specialist companies for people with existing medical conditions. And also for the over-65s.

Try 'Help the Aged', or 'Age Concern'.....I can't remember which but they insured DH, before he died, and my parents who are both over 70 and have high blood pressure and emphysema
