Travel insurance when using your own points?

If I wanted to use a 3rd party company, how do I quantify the cost of using my own points? Or is this not a thing?

For example I'm using 150ish points for 9 nights, can I say that "costs" $3000 (assuming $20/pt) or is that not a legit value that they would accept?

I'm in a similar situation with my flight as I used points on that as well.

AFAIK, if using your points, the only option is the travel insurance offered thru DVC.

DVC uses dues cost. A flight they would probably refund redeposit fees.
