I booked and paid for a trip a while ago but I am interested in travel insurance. Is there a number I can call to see if I am still eligable for insurance and to find prices for my trip.
rgf207---I'm a travel agent and sell LOTS of Disney pkgs as well as cruises, honeymoons and other vacation pkgs. I ALWAYS encourage my clients to purchase penalty protection insurance for their vacations. The majority of insurance companies protect you for MEDICAL REASONS ONLY if you should have to cancel your trip. They also protect you if someone gets hurt while you're on your trip or you get an emergency call from home to return. So many people say "I'm going...I don't care what happens" and many many times, nothing happens and you go w/o any problems but I have had several people that did have an emergency to come and have to cancel and say "Gee I wish I had listened to you and bought that insurance b/c now I'm out all my money for my trip." So, by all means, buy the insurance...whether you booked your package through Disney, through an online booking engine or from a travel agent ALWAYS purchase the cancellation insurance.
Another "heads up"---most travel insurance companies will not cover pre-exsisting illnesses unless your purchase the insurance w/in 10 days or so of booking your package. Consider that as well.
