We will be staying at PORFQ in July.....10 people in all.......four are children 7-10. We will have two cars at our disposal. This is our first trip to WDW and since it is July I'm figuring that we'll be returning to PORFQ early afternoon for some pool time and then heading out again early evening.

I know it is easy to get from PORFQ to DTD via boat. My question is how easy it is to get to the following and if taking the buses are easiest or if driving to some of them would make more sense????

1. PORFQ to MK
2. PORFQ to AK (8:30 am breakfast reservation at Tusker House)
3. PORFQ to Fort Wilderness Resort 6:15 Hoop Dee Doo show
4. PORFQ to Epcot
5. PORFQ to Ohana/Polynesian Resort
6. PORFQ to Mama Melrose/Fantasmic dinner 6pm....show 9pm

Thanks so much for the help,
Karen

Bear in mind that while we usually drive to WDW, we almost never use the car once we arrive. On our stay at POFQ last month we never waited more than 20 min. for a bus- the usual wait time was WAY less than that.

However, if you prefer to drive, I'd recommend doing so any time you are dining at a resort. ('Ohana, HDDR) Otherwise you need to take at least 2 buses/ferries each way. Bear in mind that at Ft. Wilderness you will still need to take the internal bus from the parking lot to Pioneer Hall.

I'd recommend taking the bus to MK. That way you arrive right at the gates rather than at the TTC and having to take the ferry or monorail.

Driving to the other parks is easy to do.

We just returned from pur second stay at POFQ, 48 overall trips to WDW....in all that we have never used our car for transportation.... When we drive, it gets parked in the lot and stays there...

POFQ, we never waited 20 minutes at all, always less and once aboard, parks were never 20 minutes away, some less.. We picked up at POR once and from then on, they had their own bus.. But we were picked up first on the other trip..

I'd had some problems with getting to AK in the morning this past February so I'd use the car to get to your 8:30am Tusker House ADR. To all others I'd use Disney transportation which proved excellent.

1. MK has the most buses available so no problem there (when we had our snag with the AK buses we saw probably 10 MK buses arrive and go between 6:30AM and 7:35AM, yes, we waited over 1 hour for the bus to AK and our ADR was to 8AM)
3. take the bus to MK and transfer to the Ferry to FW. If leaving from POFQ, I'd suggest leaving at 4:30PM.
4. buses galore to EPCOT, no problem.
5. take the bus to MK and transfer to the monorail resort loop.
6. take the bus to DHS around 4:30PM.
