Several years ago I purchased a travel guide book for Disneyworld, geared to those who will experience challenges. Weight, age, mobility issues, autism, sensory etc. It was a godsend for travelling with my father but after he passed away, I let the book go. Now I am trying to purchase an updated version and cannot find it anywhere. I don’t remember the name which doesn’t help. Does this sound familiar to anyone? The Unofficial Guide covers most of what I am looking for but I really appreciated the focus of the other book. Sorry for being so short on details, hoping someone sparks on what little I know. Thx!

It might have been PassPorter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruiseline or PassPorter's Walt Disney World for Your Special Needs. Unfortunately PassPorter's closed their WDW guide book business a few years ago (pre-covid). There may be older versions available at your local library or sold as used books. I don't know that the Unofficial Guide, Frommer's or Birnbaums ever produced a book specifically for disabilities. Hopefully someone has a suggestion of a more recent book, though you may need to sort of cross-reference any "disbilities" guide with a more current general guide which includes Genie+ and the most recent changes.

The one I can think of that best meets that description is the

PassPorter's Open Mouse
for Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line

Second edition is the last edition.

See http://openmouse.com/ and image of front cover at http://www.passporter.com/wdw/openmouse/openmousefrontcover.jpg

Amazon carries it though it looks like they only have one copy left: https://www.amazon.com/PassPorters-Mouse-Disney-World-Cruise/dp/158771048X

Other bookstores may have copies too, new or used. It looks like there are some on eBay too.

Yes!!!!! Passporters!!! Thank you so much, it was driving me crazy that I couldn’t remember it. I just went to Amazon for a quick look and it seems that last one published was 2014 which is the edition I had and gave away. I guess I will stick with the limited info that’s in the Unoffical guide and online searching. Thank you again.

Man, I hate it when I know I’ve seen a book (or a show, or heard a song, etc.) and then later I just cannot figure out what it was called. I’m glad you got your answer… seems like more often than not, when I have that problem, everyone I ask looks at me like I’ve got three heads or something.

While it may not be as organized as a book, I have learned so much from this site that I otherwise wouldn’t have known.
So my advice is to stick around, start looking thru the various threads and start your own to ask all the questions you were hoping to find the answers to in the book. You cannot ask too many questions, and I promise that no one here will think anything you ask is silly or dumb. It’s so much better to get the perspectives of people who have been in the parks recently, i.e. post-Covid (which sadly, is not me… yet 🙃.)
Take notes even, if that will help you to remember things that are important to you. We all have different priorities, and focus to our days in the parks, so keeping a small notebook where you can jot down important tips, or even just thoughts you had while browsing the boards. I suggest a small notebook, because then it’s easy to stick in your bag or backpack to have with you. If it were me, I’d divide it into sections for each park… but I can be a little 🤪 sometimes, so do what works for you.

Good luck and safe travels!

Honestly, Disney's policies on all of this is changing so fast, it might be obsolete if your trip is in a month. I would be careful relying on old information, especially pre-Covid information.
