I am planning a trip for July 7-16. My question: Should I use a Disney TA (which one?) or do it myself. We would like to stay at AKL, but need the AP discount codes. Thanks in advance for all the advice.

I think it comes down to preference. If you know you're going to use AP, and you have the time and desire to book your own ADR's, you probably don't really need a TA. I personally know so little about Disney that I'm not yet comfortable planning it all myself. And I'm not going AP, so I'd like to have someone watching out for codes for me, should any be released.

if only because I know I'll get help on the things mentioned in the post above and DISNEY will "share" some of my money with someone else! I find a ta much more helpful than calling the WDW number myself.

If you PM me, I'll tell you my favorite agency...but any Disney specialist will be able to get the job done for you -- including the AP discount (if available!)

Have a good trip!!

I like to use a travel agent that specializes in Disney. I book in advance and my agent applies the AP discount the morning they are released. Since I work and am unable to phone Disney myself during the day, this saves me the call. It also gives me peace of mind knowing that the discount will automatically be applied for me.
