travel agent question

we would like to go through a travel agent so that we have someone to talk to to help plan all this. i was just wondering, if i find a good deal on say travelocity.com or get a code for a cheaper hotel would the travel agent be able to get us the same price/deal?

Yes and no.

Technically Travelocity (or the like) is a travel agent. But not all TA's are created equal. So it depends on which TA you use, what reservation system they use and what their affiliations are. You may get a better deal from your TA, or you may find that Travelocity has a better deal. Its also possible that you'd be able to do just as well on your own. There are so many variables here that you'll just have to decide for yourself what you are the most comfortable with.
