Travel Agent Discount

Had to answer a phone call so I hit "post" for the above, too late to edit for extra information so here's another post.........

The agent must occupy the resort room and use the ticket, and the ticket does expire even if not used. Could never add any dining plans and not sure if the new "ticketless" packages would allow that now, don't think so, haven't tried. The ticket purchase is done separately.

The discount is offered for the agent to familiarize themselves with Disney and any new updates each year. Not an ongoing open discount, and honestly some public discounts, like FD, are sometimes better! The discounts alone are definitely not a reason to become a travel agent specializing in Disney, it's the love of all things Disney and sharing that love and knowledge to make vacations magical for other people!

Hello. I just registered at disneytravelagents.com with my company IATA. I have a IATAN card. I want to book a reservation for myself. Prices I'm seeing are the same or higher than booking on Disney World website. Can anyone offer suggestions on how I go about booking a discounted reservation for myself? Thank you

This is a zombie thread from 2008, so those discounts may or may not still be available...

You cannot book with a Disney travel agent rate until you get your own IATA card not your companies card. It takes a minimum sales $ to qualify for your own card.

You need to look at “Available Benefits” within DTA to see what you qualify for. If you haven’t taken College of Knowledge courses or if you aren’t Earmarked, you may not qualify. I would speak with your agency owner regarding discounts.

I do have my own card.
Then you need to complete your disney training. On your portal you'll see the available benefits and it will tell you what's open to you. If you haven't completed your Disney College of Knowledge training the benefit will not be available to you. You cannot book a TA rate through the normal client booking search engine.

Keep in mind disney lets very few rooms out these days at TA rates so you may find something for your dates or you may find nothing despite rooms being available all across the property for your dates.
