Travel Agent Discount Question-BC or BW villas

My MIL owns her own travel agency and we are thinking of planning a trip to Disney together. Apparently you can only book online not through a phone number if you are a travel agent booking for yourself. She tried to see if we could get a 2 bedroom villa (BCV or BWV) and none came up when she searched (and if its anything like the online system us regulars use then you know how annoying it is!) Is it possible they don't give TA discounts on villas? Or maybe we are just too far out? (thinking of booking in December)(Did I read somewhere that these book only 7 months in advance?) If anyone knows the answer that would be great, because if we can't get a villa (six people) then I need to seriously look at other things.

Thanks

Hi,
I am also an agent. Getting a villa or 2-3 bedroom suite is hit or miss. Also, Disney "sells" rooms to other consolidators such as AAA, VAX, Expedia...
They don't take back these rooms until about 7-10 days before the actual date. I was also told my a Disney Travel Company reservation agent that they hold the villas for DVC members first then release to general public and agents.
I was able to get a 2 bedroom suite at Old Key West.
Just keep trying and Good Luck!

DVC doesn't have suites. They are called villas. This is Disney's version of a timeshare and most of the villas are owned by the members. Disney maintains a small portion of the villas, plus members trade out their ownership or a portion thereof to make reservation at other non-DVC venues. When Disney hasn't sold all the villas available for sale, they also offer those for rent to non-members.

I'm a TA and I've been able to book 2-br villas twice, once at SSR and once at OKW. I do believe if she waits until 7 months out there may be availability. Just be patient.

There may be availability much further out - I have a trip in December and one of my choices was a 2 bedroom at Old Key West. So they are sometimes available, however, as others said, they are hit or miss.

SSR and OKW are much easier to book than BCV or BWV.

there is less demand for them. Both BCV and BWV are high demand.

so you might have to wait until the last 60 days - when all unused villa go to CRO.

if you can't wait that long - then go rent one from a DVC member. they can get it now.

if any Dec villa are even left.

december is very, very popular with DVC members.

you might try the new AKV - but it is just as popular in Dec was BCV and BWV.

so good luck - but don't count on it.

if a member traded out to anything besides II and MS used Dec - that would be your only hope. CRO has to sell these to get the cash to buy the other exchanges.

okay now not sure at all

went to the online reservation system

BCV is not available that first week - but BWV is definitely

it is available Dec 1 - 20

BCV is only available Dec 7-20

have no idea why they are not showing up on your sister system. Maybe disney feels they can get full price for them now. if they don't sell later they may go on discount sites.
