Does anyone have any personal experience with a travel agency for booking their room at Disney? I hope I'm not breaking any rules phrasing it like that! I'm just Leary because I just requested a rate for our room only reservation for an upcoming trip and its 1/2 of what the Disney rate is. HALF! Granted I have a non discounted rate at a deluxe booked right now but I just can't believe the price difference for the exact same room category at the exact same resort. If you have experience with one could you please reassure me that I will actually have a room if I book with one? Also, if I book through them will I be able to see the reservation on mydisneyexperience.com? THANKS ALL!!

I booked a res with them for Christmas time. Got a great rate. Agent has been fantastic. She gets back to me very quickly. So far no problems. It seems that many people use them with no issues. She gave me my reservation number and I linked it with no problem. Good luck!

So you are able to see the reservation on your my Disney experience account online just as if you booked directly through Disney? Can I still do my own ADRs and fast Passes? I don't want to surrender complete control, I still want to be able to manage everything else, but have no problems not being able to change my room. I have no interest in changing anything about the room.

Just read the sticky about mentioning travel agents! SORRY! Trying to figure out how to delete thread!!

Just change how you refer to the agency. I haven't booked ADRs yet-my 180 hasn't arrived yet, but yes I should be able to. Same with fast passes. Tickets listed a little strangely, but I was assured that I could book normally. They just list as conference tickets but I asked and was told I would book normally and didn't have to wait to arrive to book. I've read many posts that have been from people who have used them with no problems. If you want to make changes to the reservation, they have been great We started out with CSR and changed to BC a few weeks after I had already booked. Agent made the change and everything was switched with no problems.

I'm booked in November and everything so far has been seamless. My agent offered to help with ADR's and set up DME, if I wanted. The only reason I booked with them is for the better rate. I'm still in control of every other aspect of the planning. It linked to MDE with no problems.

Yes, just don't mention the name. My Poly quote for early January was way too high with them. May not get to stay there until I can convince my family to go during the August/September time frame. May just go with AKL instead!

I used the agency I believe you are speaking of last August, you have no worries. I had my reservation number within 30 minutes & linked it to MDE without any difficulty. Made my ADRs & fast passes and customized my MBs all as if I had made my reservation myself online. Got my park tix from them also, at a cheaper price ;)

Used my agent again in December, still was awesome.

Will be using them again in the near future... :)

We booked with said agency last August with no issues whatsoever and went thru them again for our upcoming August trip. Like others, our agent has been wonderful to deal with and we were able to link our reservation to MDE right away. I prefer to do my own ADR's and FP's so that's about all I handle and she took care of everything else. HTH.

If you book with an agent, you will still have access to everything on MDE--fast passes, dining, all of it. You will still be able to set up your own account as soon as you're booked and they send over your confirmation number. The biggest difference is that you will make all your payments through the agency, and if you need a change (dates or whatever), they have to make it for you. Otherwise you can do it all yourself! :)

WE have used said agency for the past three summers (Labor Day deal) and have had full access to our reservations (FP and ADRs). They will give you your confirmation number right away and you can plug that into your MDE and have full control of your plans. We always booked directly though disney but for the almost 50% off in late August price, we deal with the Agency and have never had any issues with them. Go for it!

I just booked with the agency at WL after looking at AP rates that came out this morning for Labor Day weekend. The agency was leaps and bounds cheaper. Could have stayed at Poly for $100 more, but I like WL better.

Well we are all booked with them. So far everything has gone smoothly and exactly how it should! I'll still be a little nervous until we get there and the room is ready for us but it is showing in the mydisneyexperience and everything seems great!

We used this agency for our May trip. When I booked through an agent, I got my confirmation within 24 hrs and linked it to MDE. Everything with the room and tickets worked smoothly and saved us $40 a night on room and $150 on tickets. Would use again in a heartbeat!

So question here. Do I make all of my payments through the agency? I know if I make a Disney Vacation Account I get $20 for every $1000 I spend. And through Kroger I get a discount on gas from buy gift cards. Can I pay for the remainder of my trip through the agency or through MDE using the Disney Vacation Account?

You should be able to. The TA would just need to tell the CM to enter the DVA as a gift card.

Wow, so I could "earn/save" some more money over the high quality job it appears to sound like by using this agency.
