Trash watch 2009

Wow. That would really annoy the crap out of me.

I'm in!

But I'll give you a hint. That thing will still be there this time next year.

Sometimes I feel like my whole house is a Trash Watch.

Eventually, what ends up happening is that I'm yelling and watching them pick up their trash.

OMG! That Rottie is the cutest thing ever! I love his lei.

Trashwatch...I suggest you start with leaving a tidbit on top of the paper and see if they pick the item up with the trash....if that doesn't work, then hide it underneath.

Thank you. She's a great babysitter. :goodvibes

Day 7.

No change

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel for you. I just put a new trash bag in the trash.... AFTER 4 empty pepsi cans were sat on the counter NEAR the trash can. Guess it is too much trouble for him to take out the FULL trash bag.

I'll admit I have only read the first and last page but I an SO glad to hear that I am not the only one that this happens to I find various wrappers on the floor all the time. The kids get wild when they see trash out side but heck it is ok for them to drop it on the floor in our house!

And as far as not cleaning up it doesn't happen with just their junk...The dog was sick on the floor yesterday. I have early risers and I was still in bed. SO they watch the dog heave (no they didn't bother to rush him outside), then throw up on the floor. Think they cleaned up the mess (now my kids are oldest 14 and youngest 9 so they are fully capable of cleaning up after their pets) No way not a chance! They come down stairs (our bedroom is in the basement) wake me up to tell me the dog was sick on the floor and it needed to be cleaned up! Nice huh?! I understand no one wants to clean up sick but they all watched him do it didn't try to get him outside then come to wake me up so I can clean it up GRRRR! I should have made one of them clean it but I was so  at that point I just did it myself.

If you knew the amount of CRAP I have laying around my house waiting for someone to pick it up.......:headache:

Same here, and its just DH and I! Count me in...right now I have a magazine laying on my bedroom floor, when I slide across the tile floor on it, than I will pick it up.:rolleyes1

You should see my living room after DH reads the paper. He has this lovely habit of reading the paper, then stacking it on the floor next to him. Now he could put the paper in a plastic bag, but no, its better to stack it on the floor.

When I get home from work on Sunday nights, the paper is then scattered across the floor, as both the dogs and cats love to slide on it, and shred it. Guess who gets to clean it all up....

And vomit...yea thats all me too...

DH also does not know how to put a new trash bag into the can...its easier to just throw things into the empty can...

My children are in their teens and have had chores for many years now. One chores is sweeping. I actually use those pieces of trash to see if they have truly swept due to the fact they "sweep" when I am not at home. When I see the trash still there in the corner or in the middle of the floor they have to sweep again in my presents.

Sorry for your pain but I think after 7 days (which you are at) I would sit my children down and explain that they are now in charge of keeping the floors sweep or vaccumed and clean. If they are tall enough to hold the broom then they can sweep. Not being cruel but if you are not rich and do not have a maid then children need to be taught how to do chores around the house. Personally I think all children regardless of their financial situation should be taught to keep house.

Please don't let this go on any longer. You are only allowing yourself to continue ill feelings that are not healthy for you. You are a pot that is on the verge of boiling.

This will be Lara on day 8! ;) :rotfl:
