A Monday riddle? You must hate me since 1)I'm off on Mondays and usually try to do something with son #1 and 2) it's my wife's birthday.

But that's OK. I'll find the strength to go on. I opened a fortune cookie today that said You will victoriously find your way out of the maze you've been struggling so you might as well give me the leader spot now. And I put my personal guarantee that if you do a riddle it will have over 100 posts even if I have to post 100 facts on the tree sloth.

Laura-I have a similar 'thing" going on now for 6 MONTHS

But its at my super duper expensive health club.

Every morning I do my hair and makeup in a large room with 8 sinks, mirrors hairdryers etc.
Since Sept, when a student apparently used this area, a tiny 6 inch long ruler has laid on the floor under the sink. It tells me the tiled area is never swept or mopped!!!

Day Six! NO MOVEMENT! I came so close to picking it up today. I wasn't thinking and I was doing my Saturday morning cussing and cleaning routine in the kitchen (cussing because no one EVER cleans but me). I unconciously leaned over to pick it up but then stopped myself. Now I'm baking a cake in that oven and I'm trying to stay strong.

I can so relate! Ours is about the TP! Our holder even holds TWO rolls and every time I sit down - I'm staring at two cardboard rolls!! UGghh!

I had an idea about Lara's piece of paper. Maybe she should write a note on the paper - something like:


Thank YOU! I have been waiting here since 1/_/09 - waiting for YOU to pick me up! Your Mom does so much around here - I didn't want to bother her with picking me up so I thought it would be nice if YOU picked me up! And you did! I've waited a LONG time, but you came through and picked me up! Thank You! (Now, if you could just put me in the trash can - that would be SUPER!)

Ugh..can't believe I am joining in this insanity! Only in our house it's cat hairballs. Everyone walks by them, buy I'm the only one that cleans them up!

I admit I only read the first and last pages. Here's my suggestion. Find some piece of paper or some other item they DO want/need. Place THAT item under the piece of trash. See if that motivates them to lift up the piece of trash so they can get to the thing they need. Next, see if they merely retrieve the NEEDED item from underneath and leave the trash or if they show enough incentive to actually pick up the trash and throw it away as well.
