Trash the Dress

Just curious, but I thought "trashing the dress" was something a bride did when she was either stood up at the altar or they called off the wedding, not something you did with the dress that your wore on your special day. Just curious why you would do this.

Because what else are you going to do with the dress? Hang it in a closet? She's got some incredible, once in a lifetime, no one else has photos like this experience.
My sister has three sons. I'm sure none of them will be wanting that dress later on. I, personally, did a very "fad" style miniskirt dress that no doubt won't translate well into the future. I'd love to do a sister trash session with a photographer friend.
Live it up!

I did a Trash the Dress session on the second leg of our honeymoon cruise in 2012. We have photographers (our wedding ones from earlier that month) come with us and they took the photos. Their names are David and Vicki Arndt. My husband and I did parasailing in our wedding attire and they got really great shots on castaway cay and the ship (which we did before getting off to trash f course). I would highly recommend contacting David and Vicki they do TONS of Trash the dress, Disney Weddings and Disney Cruise Weddings!

I say GO FOR IT!! We had so much fun :) and was a great honeymoon memory.

I loved your pictures! It's amazing how you were able to get so many pictures with no passengers in them ~ and you had amazing weather!

Thank you everyone! It was a once in a lifetime experience and I don't regret it at all. I purchased my dress myself, my mother was there when I picked it out and knew from day one I was going to "trash the dress" as everything was planned out before hand. So no disrespect to anyone. Maybe in the older days it would be considered disrespectful, but these days it's not like that. It's a fun, unique way to get to wear your dress one more time.

The dress is not "trashed" the salt and chlorine water actually cleaned it up pretty nicely!

I plan on taking photos of my young daughter in them closer to the end of this year and then selling it off to someone else that can use it and have great memories in it as I did OR making it into something for our house and my daughter. Possibly a dress, pillows, etc. Haven't decided just yet.

I appreciate everyone for the wonderful comments. I know everyone has their own opinion and views but for me this was something that I cherish to this day and was such a wonderful experience.
