I'm curious as to why everyone who doesn't rent a car uses a Town Car or Limo service instead of just a taxi. Wouldn't a taxi be less expensive? I haven't made any arrangements for a ride to the hotel. I thought I would grab a taxi. I also thought I would take a walk to Walgreens & pick up some things to snack on. Someone told me its about a 15 min. walk from City Walk.
There is also a liquor store next to Walgreens. Also, can't you use the I trolley for rides to International Drive?

I just use a taxi. We've only done the limo route once and that was when we had a group of people and it was a special trip. It is probably because I'm just too lazy to call.

We are thinking of not renting a car when DH and I go. How much is a taxi? Anyone have experience with Mears Shuttle?

Most town car services will do a grocery stop on the way to the hotel. Round trip car services usually run around a $100. What's the price of the taxi service?

The last time we took a taxi, about five years ago, it was around $30

Thanks! That's a good price. Hopefully the price hasn't increased too much over the past five years. We have a trip scheduled for the middle of May but I hadn't made any transportation plans yet. I was leaning towards the car service we've used before, but now I might have to reconsider.

We're staying at a hotel near the airport the night we arrive. Does anyone know if the car service (mears or ******) will pick us up at the hotel instead of the airport? We want the car service so we can get the grocery stop before going to HRH.

We're flying in to Orlando/Sanford & the best price I have found is 125.00 RT for 3 of us. Is this about the best we can expect?

Isn't Sanford about the same distance as MCO but in the other direction? You'd think you'd be able to do better than that.

Call S-U-N-R-A-Y 800-204-4355 ask for Bob. Tell him Kurt from Michigan, the family he picked up from Discovery Cove in February sent you!

I used Bob also. I found him to be polite, reasonable priced and prompt. I have used them before and recommended him many times. Suffice to say they excel at what is expected of them.

I, too, am trying to figure out the best way to get there from the airport. I am thinking about using the 3 way rate from Quick Silver Limos, as we are also doing WDW.

I have to book something this week for our trip next week. I too am thinking of booking Bob. I have to say the only reason for me to call someone like Bob and not take a cab is we are two adult women with two teenage girls landing at MCO at night ... Late at night too like after 9 . MY DD has to go to school for at least 1/2 the day so our flight is late and well my friend that is coming with us is going to go to work for 1/2 a day as well .

The price isn't bad consider it is a round trip in NYC we can pay up to that one way :lmao: :rotfl2: .

When we arrived just under 2 weeks ago, we used Mears shuttle service and it was decent. $17.00 for each of us, one way. We walked up to the counter (no reservation necessary) and were on our way 20 minutes later. To get from RPR to WDW we called Mears, and had them send a towncar. I called at around 8 AM and they were there for us at 11 AM. $45 one way, then we tipped per bag...so for the money, we had a comfortable ride with a friendly driver, didn't have any other stops and we were at WL in no time. We used Magical Express to head back to the airport.

After our experience, we decided that no more shuttle for us. We'll use the towncar service instead. It was nice and headache free. :thumbsup2
