We were at WDW from Feb 14th to Feb 19th
The Highs:
Magical Express. Piece o' Cake! Found the Welcome Center, waited in line for literally 5 minutes to check in, another 5 in the waiting chutes, another 5 on the bus, and we were OFF!!!! Stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort, and we were the first stop. Total time from wheels down at MCO, to tossing our carry-ons in our room. 1 hr 10 minutes.
Buses from CBR to all parks was GREAT. Never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus to the parks or to DtD.
The MAJOR Low:
Friday, February 17th. We had reserved tickets to the Hoop de Doo at Ft Wilderness for a surprise for my parent's 40th anniversary. Well, that also happened to be the day President Bush descended upon WDW at the Contemporary, for Republican Party fundraiser. The plan was that my DH and DS were to meet my folks at the boat dock in front of MK at 4, take the launch over to Ft Wilderness, to meet me (I had gone to get pay for, and pick up the tickets). Well, it seems they got on the boat, left the dock, and then proceeded to float around the lake for an hour and 15 minutes! The Secret Service had all transportation around the MK, the MK resorts on total lockdown. No boats were allowed over the water bridge, no busses running, total lockdown. They held the start of the Hoop de Doo for about 15 minutes, but we still missed the pre-show. The upside, was that all the CMs at Ft Wilderness were nothing but kind and wonderful to me.
I understand that Disney had no control over what the Secret Service chose to lock down, but their communications to guests could have been a lot better.
I should have a full trip report soon, but these are the Trans high and low points.
