Hello!
My Dh is an avid golfer and loves that there are so many golf courses in the WDW area. We havent bought in the DVC yet but we know we will. We really liked the SSR. Can anyone tell me if there is a shuttle or bus service for golfers to the courses from the DVC's?? :thanks:

Let the concierge desk know when you need to be at the golf course, and they will have a cab ready to take you to the golf course. They give you a voucher which includes the fare and tip. The course will call a cab for you to return to your hotel.

My DH is also an avid golfer, so I can add a few things: Disney will also take care of transporting your golf clubs from one course to another (although if your DH is like mine, he wouldn't dream of letting his golf clubs out of his sight). Also, there's a pretty good DVC card for about $50 which allows him to play at reduced rates. However, the rates are only good if he tees off after 10:00 am., which may or may not be OK with him. This website www.wdwgolf.com does a good job of describing all the courses.

We had a great time golfing at WDW last month. Boy do I wish we had some of that 80 degree weather at home. It was 12 today. We used the resort transportation 2 out of our 3 days. Just ask the desk at the HH of your resort what course you need to get to and they call the cab. You get a voucher that takes care of your fair and gratuity. And they are quick. We let them handle our clubs so we didn't have to worry about a thing. You get a cool bag tag by doing this for free. Sign up for the golf membership through DVC it is worth it even if you only go once a year. If you get there more than once a year you can use it again. Put it this way it cost 50.00. If you play at Magnolia the greens fees are normally 160+. You pay 50.00 so you are already saving money. It is good for 4 so if he is playing with someone let them help pay the membership. Most of all tell him to have FUN. The 3 courses we played were great. Our favorite was LBV and it is at SSR as posted earlier.

The DVC card costs $50 a year plus tax. The card is actually usually valid for a little more than a year -- it always ends the last day of the month that is one year from the month you purchase it, e.g., purchase it on January 2 and it is good until Jan 31 of the next year. Good for rounds only after 10 and member can bring up to 3 guests and all get discount. Actual discount varies. May (often some small part of April also) to Sep, green and cart fee is $35 but at that time of year the actual green fees after 10 for regular guests are only $45 to $60 depending on course. Oct through mid-Jan, cost is $50 per person but regular rates then are $85 to $120. Mid-Jan through Apr, cost is $89 but regular green fees are $135 to $165.

If you have an annual park pass, you can get 30% off at any time particularly those before 10 a.m. times (note, you cannot use multiple discounts, such as both AP and DVC, for any one round)
