I want to go to Vero Beach, but don't know how I would get there! I can't rent a car yet because I am only 22 and the prices are nuts anyway... Is there any form of reasonably priced transportation from MCO to Vero?!

Please help!

Thanks!

Ashley

Oh, and also... Is Vero fun for a couple of 20-somethings?

Thanks in advance...

you can rent a car in Kissimme at 18. So I would think one of the rentals at the airport would allow you too also.

mears shuttle will take you - but it can be expensive.

Does anybody know how much the mears transport to vero is? Renting a car can be quite a bit of money for me... Usually if you can rent a car, they charge a ton for insurance if you are under 25. It's really not very nice of them...

Thanks Spicey for writing back!

Anyone else know anything about this?

Ashley

I'm not aware that Mears offers a shuttle to Vero, that's something you could double-check since maybe they've started that service.

For a reference point, I found Happy Limo in Orlando does post their rates. A regular sedan (not limo) from Orlando Airport to Vero Beach runs $170 one-way/$340 roundtrip.

A rental car at Vero also gives you a lot more flexibility in getting around the area if you want to explore beyond the resort.

Please check with your personal auto insurance company. MOST ( but not all)policies will cover your rental. In that case there is no reason to purchase the supplemental insurance. I know I never do.

Ashley~Do you know when you want to go to Vero?

If your idea of a good time is sitting by the pool or laying on the beach, you will have a good time at Vero. Since you won't have a car, you won't have much ability to leave the property.

First, I'm assumming that you are planning on flying into Orlando and doing WDW first and then planning on taking a trip to VB??
If so, not sure I have any better suggestions on the transportation to get there. If you're planning on flying down and going directly to VB though, you can fly into a much closer airport. I believe Melbourne may be closest. And then take airport/limo transportation from there and it would be less expensive.

As for is Vero fun for a couple of 20 somethings? If you are more into the go-go-go then you'll find Vero very pretty but also VERY quiet. We went to VB for the first time on our honeymoon back in 97' and spent 3nights and 4days after our WDW trip and found it gorgeous but way to quiet...we liked to go to the pool and beach but liked having the parks and DTD to go with it. We weren't the type who liked to lounge ALL DAY and thought a night or 2 would have probably had been better for us back then. Now that we have 2 small children and it's 7 and a half yrs later though.....VB is perfect! We love the much slower pace as our vacationing has totally changed from go-go-go to relax, relax, relax lol :teeth: So I think it kind of depends on how relaxed an atmosphere you are looking for and how much time you'll want to spend at VB. It's definetly worth a night or 2 either way though ;)
