We stayed at an Epcot resort this past summer and the kids went to Epcot a couple times a day. The only problem is that they hated the boat ride.

What other resorts have quick trips to Epcot?

We just got back from Poly and stayed in Rapa Nui. It was about a 3 min walk to the TTC with a direct monorail ride to Epcot from there. We had to shorten our trip by a couple of days since Poly is so expensive but with family in wheelchairs it was invaluable to have the monorail.

We found it much quicker to walk!

What did they hate about the boat ride? The wait? The long wait is the reason I routinely walk to Epcot, as well as MGM. During my stay two weeks ago, I was headed to Epcot from BW, around 10:00 am or so. The boat was just boarding, and started pulling away from the dock as I passed the Bakery. By the time I had arrived at the Intnl Gateway area, the boat had pulled in, but had not started unloading. I actually beat the boat passengers to the bag check area. I do tend to walk a bit faster than most people....so others may have a different result.
POP is pretty close to Epcot..in fact you can watch IllumiNations from some areas of POP. That, and CBR, are probably the closest non-deluxes to Epcot.

Even if you were staying at the Swan or the Dolphin, the walk would have only been fifteen minutes to Epcot. Less from the other resorts. Much easier and faster than taking the boat. No waiting at all.

We didn't try to walk because it was very, very hot. I think their compaint was that the boat was slow and warm. They preferred the buses with the ac.
