I have question for you, Tyler. We will have my DM along, and she will require dialysis during our stay, so we will need to arrange transportation for her. I have heard that we should use regular taxi service, because the Med A Van services are too expensive. She has some mobility issues, so we are looking to have her close to the guest services area of our resort ... we are thinking CSR ... which is where I would guess the taxi service would want her for pick up. She will use a scooter in the parks, but could use her cane to get from guest services to a cab. Have you had any experience in coaching posters on how to make this as easy as possible? Would you recommend any taxi service specifically? Once back at the resort, after resting, we plan for her to use the in resort transportation to get her to where we are. Are the bus drivers fairly helpful in dealing with a person on a scooter, being that she will be alone? Thank you for any advice you can offer!! This is a totally new experience in our Disney planning!

I can't give you any advice on the medical part of the trip... but I can tell you that taxis are readily available out front of all resorts.

All buses are equipped to handle scooters and wheelchairs. There are over 1,000 drivers, so each one will be a bit different... but in my experience, most are pretty helpful and patient. Just be aware that they can only do so much.

You might want to try posting on the disAbilities board for more information regarding medical transportation.
