Transportation strategy

we will be staying at the Poly for 8 nights end of January. We will have a rental car and I was wondering if people though I should be driving to make prerope ADR at DHS or take the bus. Also should we drive to AK on our day there Friday to be there at rope drop or take the bus? Thanks for any advise

Take the bus. Not worth it to pay for parking when the bus will get you there. So you need the car? You can take magical express.

We always take the buses, and we drive our car to Disney. We just prefer someone else to do the driving while we are on vacation. I know staying on site does get you free parking though, if I am correct. We always prefer the buses so I can not say from experience. Since I have my car and still choose the buses I see no need for spending money on the rental, but it is all opinion.

You don't have to pay for parking if you're staying at a Disney resort.

I vote for take the car. You don't have to wait in line for a bus or drive around to other resorts on your way to the park. You can leave when you want. It wasn't difficult for us to navigate the roads at Disney. Everything is easy to get to with well marked signs.
