Transportation recommendations from Port Canaveral to MCO

Our last cruise was out of Miami and we used a private service. We're now in need for a recommendation from our hotel (either in Orlando or Port Canaveral) to the port, and from the port to the airport. We're a party of 9 (3 children, 6 adults).

I was also wondering if it was possible to rent a car at the airport and drop it off at the port and vice versa. I wouldn't assume so, but I know sometimes you can rent a car from one location and return it to another. I know we could rent from the airport and return to the airport but obviously I'd rather not pay a rental fee and parking fee for the 8 days we'll be on the ship.

One way rentals between two Florida locations are generally available from the major car rental companies. I usually use National or Alamo myself, and have rented at WDW with a drop off at PC. A pickup at MCO would also be available. The Alamo/National co-branded car rental location near PC runs a free shuttle that takes you right to the ship. I dropped off DW and luggage at the port, drove the car to the rental drop off, and hopped on the shuttle without having to wrangle the luggage. I've not done the port to airport rental because it's just the two of us and the Disney transportation has usually been marginally more cost effective compared to doing a car rental in that direction (two people at $35 pp for the DCL bus compared to $75 to $80 for a one-way rental when I priced it). We did a resort pick up of the rental car because it gave us more control over the timing in planning our drive to the port and we could pick up the car the day before the cruise and use it to get to one of the other WDW resorts for dinner while avoiding the use of Disney transportation between resorts.

Hertz and Avis are also in the PC area. There are probably others as well. I have no first hand experience with any of these.

Yes, we're renting a car at MCO through Budget the day we arrive at 8:30am and returning it at the port the following day. At $150 it's about the same as a one-way shuttle for our family of four and will give us freedom to eat off-property before checking into Copper Creek. We're using a USAA discount, and when I checked without the discount it was $300+, I assume because of the one-way rental.

There are lots of private car options. Happy Limo is one I've heard recommended.
