We have a later flight into MCO and were thinking that we might stay at the Hyatt at the airport.

Wondering, though...can we take DCL transportation the next morning from the airport to the port? AND, after the cruise take DCL transportation to WDW??

Also, if this can be done, what would be the departure time from MCO to the port? And then from the cruise to WDW??

On our last cruise we hired Happy Limo who picked us up from AKL and then brought us to the port. That worked out well, too.

I am trying to figure out what we should do this time.

DCL transfers are $35 pp one way. You can take them MCO to the port and DCL to WDW. You can get off the ship as early as 7:30 when it usually clears customs. There is more info in the DIS DCL FAQ thread linked in my signature about taking transfers from the Hyatt to the port.

If you are staying at the Hyatt, there is luggage service from the hotel to the ship...it's totally easy. The cost is $35 per person; depending on your numbers, a private limo service might be cheaper, but really no easier.

Yes, on the way home, you can again use the DCL bus service or a private limo service...totally your choice. Again, the DCL bus service is easy.

Has anyone done the port to WDW with their luggage going directly to the 'participating airline"?

I was wondering this as we have a late flight on the day we get back to port, so I though we'd go and check out WDW before heading to MCO for our flight home.

So how were you planning to get from WDW to MCO after you "check it out?"

That's part of my concern. Originally I thought we could take the Magical Express, but found out that only works for people staying at a resort. Then I considered a taxi, however we're a group of 5, three are kids, one of whom would need a carseat if we took a taxi and read that there can be a long wait to get a taxi with a carseat (we're not planning on flying with a carseat and don't want to rent a car). Then I read about some new transfers in a post here last week. Now I am planning to ask at the port when we get there and see if a CM can help us figure out transport.

Logistically, it seems challenging to go and see a part of WDW while we are in Florida. It's a long flight for us to get to Florida, so I was hoping to see something since we will be so close. It's frustrating to figure this part of the transportation out (as you can probably tell by my long response).
