Hi Everyone,
Pre-pre planner here(;
Somewhere on these boards, someone mentioned florida towncar.
What can you tell me about this company? Are they reliable, safe, etc. Any/all info. would be great.
I see the flat rate is $115 door to door. What is the typical tip for the driver? Or does that $115 price include the tip?
I hate that I have to think about transportation, so miss Disney's Magical Express):
I hope my questions are ok to ask?
Thanks in advance for the info.!

A standard tip for good service is 20%. That suggests ,$25 give half to the driver going and half to the driver going back. $115 R/T is rock-bottom price. I'd probably tip at least ,$15 each way

I can't say I know anything about a company called "Florida Towncar" but there are so many out there. The sponsor on this transportation forum, FL Tours has been a sponsor hear for years I want to say over 15 years. Tiffany Towncar has been around a long too. There are several out there.

Always tip on top of the cost, the driver gets paid and maybe some % but a tip is appropriate.

That is unbelievably cheap compared to other companies in the area. Much too cheap. That would lead me to believe that they are using older cars and underpaying the drivers.

Cash only. An extra $10 for grocery stop. An extra $10 to rent a car seat

Rates are on the low side, but no quite as low as they first appear. The company is listed on airport site on the VFH list.

I agree, good chance they drive older cars. Some of the less expensive sources are almost like booking direct with the driver. I'm sure Mears keeps more then enough of the fare to cover overhead, marketing etc. I have no idea if the company is a traditional company or more like a drivers coop.

A lot of posters, including me,, are happy with Tony Hines. He has low overhead and his fares are on the low side.

Edited to add the fare is a few dollars more then a R/T fare for Uber XL.

My concern is coverage if my flight has significant delays. Mears has almost unlimited resources. The smaller companies have some drivers who can cover for them
