Transportation questions re PBH

Staying for 2 weeks at PBH:

1. best way to get to US/IoA? There seems to be a boat, but I don't see any way to get to theme park entrance? How close does it get you?

2. we will have rental car, but if we wanted to take a taxi to Disney (for example, MK), about how much would it be?

I can't answer #2, but for question #1, the boat drops you at a dock in Citywalk. Once docked, its probably a 3 to 5 minute walk to Universal Studios, and 5 to 8 minute walk to IOA.

The boat docks at City Walk. As you exit the dock area, if you turn to your left, you cross the bridge to US or turn to your right to go over to IOA. If you have a rental car, you really do not want to take a cab to WDW. Expect the cost of the cab, with tip, to be about $40 each way, cost of parking at the parks at WDW is $10/day.

Sounds like this may be your first onsite stay, have you joined Loews First? If not, make sure you join and add the LF # to your reservation as this stay alone will bring you close to platinum level for future stays.

The boat is your best bet from the Portifino. You can walk but its a good hike. When you get off the boat, you are in front of Citywalk, the main universal park is just right there to your left. IOA is slightly a little further to your right, right passed Margaritavilles, but just look for the IOA lighthouse and walk towards that for IOA, you can't miss it.

The main Universal park has the giant globe with UNIVERSAL written on it at the entrance, can't miss that either.

As for going to MK, if you have a rental car I would advise taking it, unless money is absolutely no object then you could take a cab, but a cab I'm thinking is going to run around 30-35 bucks a pop. (I think)
