We will arrive at MCO at 9:30am cruise day. I know everyone suggests not doing that - but adding another night to our vacation may be too much. We would like to do DCL transportation one way to the terminal. How do I arrange that? Will they take take our luggage from ACY and put it in our cabins - or do we have to claim them? After cruise we are going to rent with Avis one way to take us to the FW cabins. Does anyone know if the office at Downtown Disney Hilton will shuttle DH to FWafer dropping us off? Going to rent a golf cart at the cabins - do Disney boats to MK - and ME home when vacation is over. I posted this on the Transportation thread - but they thought you guys might know more. Thanks!

We flew in the day of our cruise. We almost missed the ship. Please reconsider if possible.

Otherwise, DCL will send luggage tags for you to put on your luggage. If you purchase Disney transfers, DCL will retrieve your luggage and get it to your stateroom. You will not have to touch it once you check it to its final destination. You should be able to purchase transfers through DCL's website or through your travel agent.

if you can try to go the day before if you are flying out of philadelphia they are really messed up, alot of delayed flights , we flew usair last year the day befor our trip and all week my flight was leaving late come to find out their was no flight crew for my flight all week then since we got in late it took over 1hr 20 min to get our bags because we had to wait for the other flights to get unloaded it doesnt cost that much more to fly the day before the raddisson at the port wil even take you to the port for free any questions yuo can send me a private message hope this helps

OK, back to your original question. You can purchase one way DCL transfers. Call DCL (or your TA if you used one). You will get DCL luggage tags in your documents booklet which you place on your bags.

I have absolutely NO idea what ACY is. DCL will transport you and your luggage from MCO (Orlando airport) only. They do not service any other airports. If you are flying into MCO and using DCL transportation with the luggage tags on your bags, you do not have to claim them. THey will show up in your cabin.

As to flying in the night before....arriving at 9:30 am is great, provided that you really do arrive then. Your departing airport can have all sorts of problems that result in you not arriving on schedule. IF you booked air thru DCL, they will get you to the ship, even if that means holding the ship for a short time. It sounds like you did your air separately. In that case, you are responsible for getting yourself to the port on time.

Seriously consider flying in the evening before. I'm not saying to add an extra day to your vacation. I'm saying to fly in after work the evening before. We get a 3* hotel room on Priceline, which is about $31-35. All of the 3*s provide complimentary transportation to the hotel. I just feel better knowing that I'm in Orlando before the cruise and don't have to rush in the morning. Alternatively, you can stay at a hotel near the port. The Radisson has a free shuttle to the port, but all the Cocoa Beach hotels have a shuttle service available. It used to cost $3 per person...

Thanks for the replies! Looks like I will really have to reconsider the cost of arriving the day before so I guess that rules out using the DCL transportation to the terminal. We liked the idea of not having to get our bags like we did with ME in May. But missing the ship would be worse than getting a couple suitcases. We will probably try to do another one way Avis rental to the terminal. ACY is Atlantic City International (small but convienent - have to go Spirit Airlines). Again, I appreciate the help and I will probably have nine thousand (at least) more questions before we sail.

We arrived at 9:30 as well on the morning of cruise and had no problems with DCL trasnsport. DCL castmembers will meet you at the airport and take care of you. There were many busses waiting, so this is a common thing. We were at the dock with plenty of time to spare, in fact it was fairly empty when we arrived. But of course anything can happen!

southjerseymom, Where are you from in SJ? When is your cruise? I am also from SJ and am cruising May 2006
