Transportation Q for Custom Weddings

Hi. We're considering not having an EPCOT wedding & reception now because of the transportation and hosts required. How do the buses work? The Wishbook says they hold 42. If I have more than 42, will they make more than one run, or do I have to get another bus/vehicle? And do they transport them after the ceremony too? It says 5 hour minimum, so I assume they do.

So what if we have it say, at Sea Breeze Point at the Boardwalk? If guests are not staying at the Boardwalk wouldn't I still charter a bus to get them there? Maybe you will tell me it's cheaper from outside companies.

TIA! This transportation thing seems confusing. I'd rather just get the bus and not worry, but DBF is just trying to cut some corners so we don't break the bank!

Its not to bad once they explain it...but the wishbook is confusing..
Buses hold the 42...actually 56...we had 100 people so we needed two...i dont know how they work it if you are right on the edge...
The package involves pick up at three hotels and drop off after the reception....
During drop off they will deliver your guest to any hotel and to the ceremony location....(just tell the driver where you all need to go)
The bus wont make trips back and fourth for the reception arrival…You will need a seat for every guest but will make trips so everyone doesnt have to leave at the same time
Once your reception starts ...the bus can leave every 15min ...this way no one is trapped....

Hope that helped...actually now that i write it down it does sound crazy

Thank you. Your explanation helps. The Wishbook is so vague, and I haven't actually called Disney yet. I was thinking around 60 or so -- first count list, not actual rsvp's. The buses actually hold 56? That is helpful because we could maybe have our parents/siblings ride with us in a different kind of vehicle.

It depends on the size of busses you get the day of your event. Cruise line busses used to be the largest, not sure if they still are, but there are other ways to cut the costs and our planner has been excellent with that.

I cut out the drop off (let them get their own ride home) to make it cheaper and just did the minimum expenditure...i'm not sure if you can do that with an Epcot wedding because the time might take too long...it's a minimum 5 hours. We did investigate other companies and found Disney/Mears prices to be competitive (and then part of your minimum)

You wouldn't be able to cut out the drop off with an Epcot event because the busses pick guests up backstage where there aren't other transportation options. Plus, the guests wouldn't be allowed to walk up to the front of the park where the taxis, regular park busses, monorail are since they don't have tickets.

We had our pre-reception and reception in Epcot, and I'm so glad I used the busses. It really helps things run smoothly, and the guests don't have to try to navigate WDW property alone. For us it was well worth the cost (and was required since our events were in Epcot).

I understood this...but what I meant was if the event was under the five hours. Usually they quote 8 hours and if you could do it in five...but I didn't think you could...I never got that far because we fell in love with ADH

Oh, I gotcha now. I'm like you, there's no way we could've done it in 5 hours either. ADH is a really cool venue!
