Transportation Help!!

Well, I'm trying ever so hard to not get my hopes up too high, but it seems a trip to Disney may be in my future!!! I have a few questions about getting from resort to resort. The people that I will be meeting up with are staying at the Boardwalk, and as much as I'd love to join them , I'm not sure my budget has the Boardwalk in the cards for me. So of the following resorts, which is the easiest to get to the Boardwalk from. TIA!!

Port Orleans FQ
Fort Wilderness
Pop

If it were me, I would head to MGM and then either walk or take the boat to BW. That's what I do if I am at POP and have to meet people at BW.
Or, you could a bus to any of the other parks (MK or AK) from POP and then transfer to the BW bus. Either way works pretty well.

There are no resort to resort buses. No matter where you stay, you will need to take a bus to the theme park closest to your friends and then take a bus from there to their resort.

The Swan and Dolphin aren't a lot more than a moderate if you have AAA, a nurse, or teacher discount and they are about a 2 minute walk from the Boardwalk.
