Several recent threads on this topic. I would make sure to look into the cost of ground transportation BEFORE you book a flight into Sanford. Unless this is the only airport from your local market, the savings on any flights will likely be offset by the higher cost of ground transportation compared to flying into MCO.
Thank you! I found some articles on it, looks like Uber/Lyft are the cheapest under $200 round trip. Also a place called Orlando sun is $190 round trip and has good reviews! But absolutely most of the transportation is pricey

A lot of the Uber and Lyft drivers in Orlando won’t go to Sanford because it can take hours to get a fare back from there. There are often just a few flights in a given day.

Oh ok well we’re coming Easter week so I guess between the cheaper price and the crowds I thought this would be a better option. I’ll keep an eye on flights just not sure they’ll go down for that particular week

Previous years pax flying into SFB didn't have DME and was comparing the cost transfers vs ZERO at MCO. Shared shuttle options at MCO can also have an impact on the comparison, particularly if your kids are free.
SFB to WDW is more then twice the distance and about twice the time. PP supplied the name of services which are priced around $100 more the service from MCO.
REAL ISSUE isn't just transfers. Carriers which fly into SFB generally have one flight, and that flight generally isn't daily. Some routes are 2 flights a week. Real issue if something goes wrong. Travel Insurance will rarely cover the $$$ cost of replacement airfare with another airline. Might give you an allowance toward hotel and meal expenses if there is an issue with your flight home.
