Can we use the Disney buses to get to and from Port Canaveral if we are staying a WDW resort the night before our cruise, but not after our cruise? And am I correct that if we did stay one night before, and then one night after, we would not be allowed to leave our car parked for the 4 nights we are on the cruise?

You can use the Disney bus to get from the resort to the port. But if you aren't staying at the resort after the cruise, then you won't be able to use the bus to get back to the resort. At least, that's not an advertised use case. Perhaps you'd get a different result if you called and asked nicely.

I'm not sure why you'd want to do this, anyway. It's cheaper to park at the port than to park at a Disney resort, isn't it? Maybe not if you get free DVC parking, but then, as you said, you wouldn't get free parking for the nights that you aren't staying at the resort.

For the length of your cruise and the cost of DCL transportation to/from the port per person, I believe it would be less expensive to just park at the port as Kwami suggested. However, if you just like the magic of taking the Mickey bus to the port, then I totally understand.

Thank you both! I realize it is not really practical - I was just curious since I had heard that using DCL transportation can allow you to arrive at the port earlier. I realize getting on the ship would still depend on the boarding group.

Yeah, but bus riders get a lower boarding group number, too! At least, I did when I took the bus from the Hyatt. We checked in about 15 days before the cruise and got boarding group 3.
