We plan on flying in to FLL the day before our cruise and staying at a hotel with airport and sea port transportation. After the cruise we are flying home same day. How do you get to the airport? We might be flying out of Miami if it's cheaper? Uber, etc? Or is there a shuttle service from the ship (assuming not free)? New to all this!

You have several options but some might be more convenient or cost effective depending on party size.

You can buy airport transfers directly from DCL. This option is priced per person so if you have more than 3 people one of the following options might be cheaper overall.

Private car service. There are lots of private car services that will do this trip. The price will be the same no matter how big your family will be. Well, that assumes you will all fit in the car with your luggage.

Taxi/Uber/Lyft. These would all be priced for the trip like above.

We just came back from a FLL cruise (not DCL). We took a taxi from port to Ft Lauderdale airport. It's not far, but there's a set fare for most of the taxis. It runs around $30 for the trip.

Don't know if DCL has a airport shuttle or not.

There is no flat rate for taxis from PE to FLL (or to MIA, for that matter).

When we cruise out of PE, we use Lyft to get around. FLL is a hop-skip-and-a-jump from a host of hotels and they, in turn, are right next to the port. Literally took us 10 minutes to get to our hotel (airport traffic was terrible) and 5 minutes to get to the port

Got back from our cruise (2 of us) in November. Cancelled DCL transport when flight time changed. It was $25 per person. Taxi was easy (there was a line and someone coordinating it) It was $18 and I gave him $22.

Airport to hotel:
The majority of hotels within the FLL/PE area offer hotel pick-up. Some are phone to confirm upon arrival some just have rotating vans that shuttle back and forth between specific times. Uber/lyft/taxi are all easily accessible at FLL and with the distances involved don't have an advantage over each other in my experience.

Hotel to PE:
Many airports offer to arrange a shuttle pick-up for you. Cost can vary. A few times are usually offered. Uber/lyft are easy options with in app hailing. Price is usually pretty reasonable and the trip is quick. You can also arrange private car service or shuttle beforehand with various companies.

PE to Airport:
The ship will offer services to get you to the airport. There will be taxis easily accessible at the curb and getting an uber/lyft is again very easy. Unless there is a substantial price difference between FLL and MIA I would always pay the extra to fly out of FLL for the ease of distance and FLL just being a better airport.
