Transportation from MCO to MK

Does anyone have any suggestions for transportation from MCO to the Magic Kingdom? I am meeting friends at MK upon my arrival to Orlando. Unfortunately because I am staying offsite I can not take advantage of Magical Express. I tried to book a Mears Shuttle but they only offer Towncars or Limos directly to Disney World. For a party of one that option seems pricey. Any suggestions?

Not many options. You could try the Lynx bus from MCO, but I'm not sure how long or convoluted that is. I've heard it's okay.
You could also book the Mears shuttle to the S/D from MCO, then take the S/D bus to MK. That is only about $20.
A cab will be about $50, as will a car service.

Rent a car! You can rent a car and drop it off at the National car center and the Dolphin hotel. I have seen some car deals as low at $10 a day plus tax and fee's.

Couldn't the OP also just take the Mears Shuttle to the Contemporary and walk to MK?

Granted, this can't be reserved in advance, but they can just proceed directly to the Mears counter after claiming any luggage. Or does Mears not transport to Disney resorts, period?
