I am sure this question has been asked before, but I tried a search and came up empty. My wife and I are going on a no kids trip in November. Where it is just the 2 of us we are staying in a studio at AKL. I would like to pick up some supplies on the way to the resort from the airport. Not enough stuff to make a grocery delivery service worthwhile. Just some snacks, a case of beer, water, juice maybe a bottle of vodka etc. I know there are other options for transport besides DME such as town cars and taxis that would allow us to stop at a grocery store. Has anyone done this? How much did it cost? Was it a royal pain in the butt?

Personally, I would pay the fee for a grocery delivery service. It would still be less than the cost of a cab or town car (compared to the free DME). Another reason- WDW vacation time is valuable and I don't want to spend any of it in a grocery store. Just my 2 cents.

Will the delivery services deliver alcohol? Do we need to be there when they deliver it or can it go to bell services? Thanks.

Yes, you can get alcohol. You will probably have to fax/send tham a copy of your ID ahead of time. And yes, if you're not in your room when your order arrives, they will leave it with bell services. Perishable items will get refrigerated until you're ready for it.

We stay at AKV many times. Whenever we are going straight to WDW from MCO we usually take the South exit of the airport onto 417. About halfway to Disney we take the Orange Blossom Trail exit (note there is a 50 cent exact change toll here) and there is a Super Target right at the bottom of the ramp. They have a full grocery including bakery, deli, produce, etc and great prices and usually not crazy busy. Then we just hop back onto 417 and continue onto Disney for the last 10 minutes of our drive. Super easy and convenient.

There is a Target pretty close to AKV off of 192, but since we are literally driving right by the one on Orange Blossom Trail on the way it is just easier to stop there.

ETA: They have a pretty large beer/wine selection as well at Target. Not something we are used to here in PA!
