We are newbies when it comes to Europe. We sail out of Dover on a Sunday, and plan to fly into Heathrow on Saturday morning and spend Saturday night there. What is the easiest/reasonably priced way to get 2 people from a London hotel to Dover? We are not opposed to using public transportation or a DCL service. Thanks.

Easiest/ reasonably price will be to go back to the airport and take Disney transportation.

Disney does provide transfers from Heathrow, but I do not know what the price per person is.

There is direct train service to Dover Priory from Victoria, Charing Cross and St. Pancras, with St. Pancras being the fastest.

You can take the Piccadilly line directly from Heathrow to Kings Cross/St. Pancras and get the train from there. The tube will be about an hour to Kings Cross and then another hour by train to Dover Priory. The tube fare will be about $8 US with another $40 or so for the train.

I’m booked on the TA this year. Disney transport is 60.00 per person from the two hotels they are using. One was the Churchill and I can’t remember the other one. Both hotels were very pricey.

I'd look at private transfers. National Express are good but they go via London Paddington and then you have to transfer. If DCL are offering a transfer I would probably go down that route as its easier from Heathrow to be honest.

I am going to book the Disney transfer. Seems like the safest bet. I think my travel agent said it leaves from the Double Tree Victoria Palace? It might leave from somewhere else too.

That is our plan as well. We are also Europe newbies and just wanted a very easy way to get to the port.

When we sailed out of Dover two years ago, we stayed at the Heathrow Sofitel and used DCL transfers. You can’t beat the convenience and entering Central London for one evening with luggage is not worth it in my opinion. You could spend the day visiting Hampton Court.

We used the DCL transfers from London Centre at the Doubletree Hilton Victoria last year. It was very easy and we arrived before boarding began. You can stay at any hotel if you use the London Centre pick-up point.

We are staying at the Sofitel at Heathrow and booked the DCL transfers for $70 per person each way to Dover. We did it 2 years ago and it was so easy and convenient.

Try this.

Added options on pick up, great prices, optional Dover castle included.
They take care of the luggage.
No trains or tube.

Do join your Cruise meets group as many have shared transfers booked.

This is what we wanted to do, but Disney isn’t using the Sofitel in 2020. We may book them on our own.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. We have decided to stay in London for a night and take the DCL transportation in the morning. That causes the least amount of worries.

What is Hampton court? We will most likely be staying near airport for one or two nights.

They told me they were. You can still stay there and take a transfer out of the airport. That hotel is in terminal 5. There are numerous hotels around airport with shuttles. I liked the Hilton garden Inn.
