Does anyone have suggestions/prices on the cheapest transportation option?

There are 4 of us needing transportation from CSR to Port Canaveral (non-Disney cruise) and then back to MCO.

Got a quote from Happy Limo for $220 plus grats for the round trip. They pick us up directly at the hotel.

We are willing to take DME to MCO on the morning of the cruise and pay for transportation from there if it would be much cheaper than gettting picked up directly at the hotel.

Has anyone done something similar? Advice / prices would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would imagine that just about every option you try will come out to around $200 or so, plus tips. I know that when I have used a car service between WDW and port, it has been about that...going to port from WDW and then back to WDW after the cruise.

Have you thought about doing a one way car rental for one day?

My husband and I are cruising in January after a stay at Disney. We will have a car already for the 5 days we are at Disney and are turning that in at Port Canaveral. When we return from the cruise we are then renting again for the day to return at MCO, it is costing us $35 for that day. There are shuttles from the car rental agency to the cruiseship. I'm not sure if there is an Avis near Disney but you could take DME to the airport and rent the car there and then come back and pick up your family. Hopefully I'm making sense here :)

We rented from Avis using the AWD code C031529 . The location code for Port Canaveral is P3F.

Hope that helps.

It's been awhile, but we had a 1 way rental from MCO to Port Canaveral. I believe it was Avis. We stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn, went to the car rental place and they gave us a ride to the Port. It was about a 5 minute drive back then. On the way back the van showed up at the port and brought us back to the agency.

Go over to the cruise boards - I'm sure there is some mention of which company is cheaper/closer.

Have a great time.

I didn't mention the price sorry - if memory serves me correctly - the car was about $50 - that included taxes, etc. It was an economy car. The drive is very easy.

I also recomment a one way car rental. This is a very easy drive and the least expensive option.

I did a one way rental last year and it was definitely the cheapest option. We rented through Hertz and they provide transporation to the port and pickup as well. It also gave us the flexibility to go to DTD upon our arrival and to tour around a little bit.

Hi sorry did not read thru. We got an econo from Alamo and dropped off at Enterprise , they took us over to the port, it was $33.60 for the trip plus gas at about $8. We had 4 suitcases, 4 people. We got a econo car from budget on the way back for $35. plus $6. gas, we had hybrid. The codes I used were Alamo 299851 and Budget Y973800. Got our car at Car Care Center near Magic Kingdom.

I'm glad that I saw this thread. We are flying in on a Wednesday but cruise out on Thurday. I booked an intermediate with AVIS using the code given above for $55. After the cruise we are renting from AVIS again straight to the airport for $34. Total $89 for 4 adults. Not to bad considering Disney transportation would have cost around $280.
