Hi there,

We are thinking of staying at Courtyard at DD next year and may not have rental car... How is their bus system?

How long does it take to get to each park from there?

Is the Courtyard the first stop for the bus or the last?

How late do they run?
How early do they run?
Do they travel to DD and Water parks?

How often do they run?

Please help, I can't make up my mind if we will need a car or not?

Thanks
:D

I have stayed here several times over the years. The last time was several months ago, so unless things have changed......

The bus is shared with all the DD hotels except the Hilton and Wyndham, which have their own bus btween those two hotels. At the time of early entry, the DD hotels were eligible, but there was a little challenge! The bus left just before early entry started, and dropped at the Ticket and Trans Center, so by the time one took the monorail over, early entry was almost over. If you have a car, it is still a challenge to 'drive' on early entry days, as you would have to park at a Disney hotel and take their bus. Security is much tighter and they discourage this.

Coming back can be a challenge - in past years there were times even in off season when one bus was full (ie after Illuminations at Epcot) If you return at non peak times, though, it shouldn't be a problem.

Downtown Disney is within walking distance, and the Goodings Plaza about a 10-15 minute walk. All of the hotels in DD are also within walking distance. A car is really NOT necessary, unless you plan to go offsite a lot. Even when I do have a car, I find that staying in a Disney hotel or in DD keeps you in vacation mode much more so than driving off property - even if it's just to Lake Buena Vista!
