I posted a while back about the best way to get from AKL to MK and it was to take the bus to Contemporary, then walk or bus to TTC, then Monorail...I just wanted to double check that this is the best way to MK....

also,

since we have a rental, is the best way from AKL to resort dining at Contemporary and Grand Floridian the best way vs bus?

Thanks so much!

The best way to get from AKL to MK is to just take the MK bus. It drops you pretty much at the front entrance of MK, no reason to go to the CR.

If you'll have a car it is definitely faster to drive to the CR or the GF from AKL.

The PP is absolutely correct. There is no bus from AKL to the Contemporary. Do you mean Animal Kingdom instead of Animal Kingdom Lodge?

I just looked back on the original posting I was referring to and I did make a mistake and you are correct on picking up my mistake. It says that is the directions of AK to MK.....sorry about...we do have to do AK to MK so I am assuming that is correct...Thanks for picking up on my error!

From AK to MK, you can take a bus from AK to TTC then monorail or ferry boat to MK. OR you can take a bus from AK to Contemporary(CR) and walk to MK(you could also go to the 4th floor of the CR and board the monorail and go all the way around, walking would be faster).

There are no buses that go from a Disney hotel to the TTC.

From the AKL you could take a bus directly to the front of the MK.

If I have a rental car, is it better to take the car from AKL to AK then to the Contempory for dinner reservations or take the bus? Thanks everyone!

It is almost always easier when going from resort to resort if you use a car(I say almost because if you are at certain resorts, monorail, epcot, then you have other options).

Thanks,I just wasnt sure about going from resot to park to another resort since the best way to go from resort to park by bus. For us that day it is resort, park, another resort. Thanks for your help!

Since you have yo get back to your resort after the meal it will be easier to use your car that day. It sounds like it would be resort to park to another resort for dinner then back to your resort, right?
To MK it is easiest to leave the driving to Disney, for pretty much everything else, take the car(this assumes you like to drive).

Yes, it will be AKL to AK, then to the Contemporary for dinner. I thought I had read that direct bus is better to every park just not resort. We can bring the car, either way. AKL seems pretty remote and I heard the bus from Kidini can be frustrating...thanks! Do you know if there is a map anyhere that I can get the driving direction from AKL to each of the parks with the exception of MK?

You probably get a very general map at check in, but Disney has lots of road signs and plenty of places to turn around safely and go back(please dont' cross multiple lanes of traffic to get to an exit, just turn around when/where it is safe to do) if you miss the turn you wanted. Disney is an easy place to get around, after a day or two you will feel like a pro.

Some people prefer to drive to parks because they don't want to wait(up to 20min) for a bus or don't want to take the chance of having to stand etc. If you drive you will not wait on a bus, but you may need to take a parking lot tram. The MK is the exception to the rule since the parking for it is at the TTC, across the lake and you will still need a monorail or ferry to MK, if you use a Disney bus you get dropped of right at MK. If you are just going to a park, bus or car is very little difference in my opinion. If you are going resort to resort, no parks, definitely drive. When you add in multiple resorts and parks it might be easier to have your own car rather than figuring out transfers
