Hey guys... Im having a problem deciding on which way to go for transportation for the bridal party. I need to find something to take me and the girls from the Grand Floridian to the Wedding Pavilion, then something to take the whole Bridal Party, 12 people to the reception after the ceremony. So approx 2 1/2 hours. I thought it would be fun to get some kind of party bus. A friend of mine in Chicago is getting a party bus and when we went to look at it, and it was so NEAT!!! It looks just like a limo inside (leather seats and all) but was a bus, and could fit about 14-16 people. Does anyone know where I can find something like this?? I am really hoping to not spend a fotune on this part of it, since it is only for a couple of hours. I really need to start cutting costs and I was hoping this was something I can cut! I would rather have one vehice for thr entire party, rather then splitting up into 2.

I would appreciate any ideas on how to do this, and find out what others have done... HELP!

Thanks
Jamie

First of all, Are you intimate or custom?
If you are intimate you get 4 hours of limo service for your wedding day. Well, you actually get 4 hours of service and you can use them during your stay. All four hours have to be used at the same time, so if you only use 2 1/2 hours, you can not use the last hour and a half at a later time. So if you are not planning on using the limo for airport transfers or going to get your marriage license, this is a good option.

If you are a custom, Where will your reception be? IF it is at the GF, you could simply walk to the GF from the WP. If you only have 12 guests, I'm sure they wont mind the walk and the beautiful landscape.

Now if you are a custom and your reception is not at the GF, I don't know what to tell you. You'll have to rent some kind of transportation. UNLESS,,,, Your reception is at another resort along the monorail such as the California Grill at the Contemporary. If this is the case, you can walk to the GF and get on the monorail to the Contemporary.

Ok, well, that was a pretty long answer for such a short question. I hope I helped a bit!

We had a custom wedding and rented one limo. We also had 12 people in our bridal party and the limo driver took a few people at a time and drove them from the WP to the GF, it worked out Great because the minimum rental time is 3 hours. he picked the guys up at the coronodo springs and brought them to the WP then as we were getting our photos done in GF lobby he started driving the bridal party to the WP for the ceremony came back and picked us up and then after the ceremony he took people back to the GF after the WP photo's were done.

Good Morning... No, I am not Intimate, custom with approx 100 guests. The transportation of 12 is the wedding party and Brian and I. We going to get ready at the GF, Ceremony at the pavilion and Reception at the Boardwalk Resort. I would rather not have the limo taking that many trips, etc... I would like the wedding party to all be there at the same time. Anyone have any ideas??

Jamie

Jamie - Our reception was at the Boardwalk too. We had about 75 guests, including our bridal party. For transportation we did this:

Walter and I had a vintage car that transported us around before the ceremony until we arrived at the reception. (we saw each other before the ceremony for pictures)

We charted a limo that was used to take our parents from the BW, to the GF, to the WP, and back to the BW for the reception.

For the bridal party - we used one of the motor coaches that we were renting for the guests to transport them around. The bus took them from the BW to the GF. They get from the GF to the WP in waves via the limo. The groomsmen went first so they could be there to seat the guests. Then our parents went, and then the bridesmaids. After we took pictures at the WP after the ceremony, one of the buses returned to take them to the BW.

After the reception, everyone rode the buses to get to EPCOT for Illuminations.

Talk to your EM about your transportation concerns. When I told mine what I wanted to accomplish (taking pictures at both the BW and the GF) and that I needed to do it as cheap as possible, this is what he came up with. And it worked out beautifully!

Sounds like it worked out nicely for you... I am just concerned about money. I am not providing transportation for the guests to get to the ceremony and reception. I spoke to a lot of people, and everyone is renting a car or driving their own.

So really I just need something for the bridal party and us.??? What do you think is the best way to do that?

Jamie - If it really is just you and the bridal party your cheapest option is probably getting a limo, maybe 2. The minimum on the limo is only 3 hours so it helps cut costs. (the minimum for the bus is 5, I think)

Unless you go to an outside company that had the party bus that you were talking about earlier. I don't think Disney charges for using an outside transportation vendor, but I would check on that too.

You can use an outside vendor and rent a party bus. You don't have to use Disney.

Does anyone know where I can find an outside vendor that has a party bus, or some good cost limos, etc...

Any ideas are welsome!!

You guys are all great, thanks for all the help!

Jamie

I would try Tiffany Town Car, FL Tours, or Happy Limo. One of those companies would probably be able to help you or point you in the direction of someone who could. Or do a search with Google, I'm sure you'll find a company that can help you.

For my sister's wedding, the limo made 2 trips to/and from.

We stayed at Boardwalk. The limo picked up the guys first and took them to the pavillion, then came back for the ladies. After the ceremony, the photographer was still shooting pictures of the bride and groom, so half the wedding party that had already done pictures rode to the reception. The limo came back maybe 20 minutes later for the rest of us. Worked out fine.

Jamie,
As the last poster said, our wedding party was also taken to the reception before we finished taking pictures. The time line becomes very tight after the ceremony because the pavillion has to be prepped and ready for the next wedding, so they will move all of your guests and bridal party out as soon as their pictures are done. That way only you and your husband and the photogtapher are left at the pavillion to finish up your bride/groom pictures. Then you will make your entrance at the reception together. The easiest way around it is to have the limo take 2 trips. I believe they only allowed 8 people in the limo at at time (they have a passenger limit and Disney made sure we stuck to it) so you may have to take 2 trips. It really isn't a huge deal, your coordinator can keep the bridal party out of your cocktail hour until you arrive if you prefer to enter together.
